A poem for adoptive moms
Forever We Will Stay
When I was born my mother knew she couldn’t keep me, for reasons I don’t understand. But God knew who he had chosen to be my mom, someone He had picked by hand. You were the one person He saw deserving to raise me in His light. You loved me, fed me, clothed me, and tucked me in each night. You were such a special lady for accepting such a task. No one could have loved me more, so tell me, what more could I have asked? If I had my way, you’d still be here today with me. But God called you home and to the heavenly gates He gave you the key. Although I am filled with sorrow and feel such a loss. I am comforted to know that we will reunite one day because of what He did on that cross. So, dear Mother, rejoice in your new heavenly body each and every day. And know that in His time I’ll be joining you - no more goodbyes, forever we will stay. |
