You evidently don't watch politics too closely, or you just don't understand them, period. I agree Powell would make a good leader. But he would likely not win. Blacks, who tend to be more liberal in their political persuasions, view him as a sell-out, particularly for accepting a position with Bush. And he is too middle-of-the-road that either party would nominate him because of the possibility of him going either way on various issues. Though he is currently associated with a Republican administration, he is almost perfectly in the middle. Generally, nominees are chosen because their views lean slightly (not greatly) in one direction or another. Assuming a scale of -100 (communism) to +100 (fascism), Powell would be about a 0, most politicians are between -20 (democrats) and +20 (republicans). So while Powell would make a great leader, he would likely not fare well with the whole political ballgame.

2Bear: I know and understand all of that. I know he'll never run or win, however as speculations go, he is the best suited man for the office, that is it.

If you'd have thoroughly read my post, you'd see that the economy runs in cycles. They're not exact (in terms of now long each part lasts), but they always go in the same order. Clinton had absolutely NOTHING to do with the economy. Boom followed by recession followed by smaller growth followed by depression, etc. I think that's the order. President's don't affect the economy. Didn't he have a Republican Congress when it began to grow, anyway? Usually, it's the Congress that proposes legislation; the president can suggest stuff, but Congress need not go along with his agenda.

Clinton's personal life is not being debated here, its his policy. Sure the economy was great, but we were attacked on multiple occasions. All his administraion did was send a bunch of poorly guided cruise missles. Face it, liberals are cowards when it comes to foreign affairs. smartest man to ever grace that office, he could of done more, ALOT more.

Economy does go in circles. Yes. But person who is in charge of country influences these cycles too. If wrong peropel are in charge low side will last longer and u tide will be shorter. Clinton was good at what he was there to do, that's why he is so good.
And about attacks... Bush is attakcing countries there arent even aggressive towards US, like Iraq, which is even worse. With Bush America became a bully.

There are so many conspiracies and lies and "hidden" shit that went on with Clinton it is not even funny. There were CIA people that came up with info on him during his govenorship of Arkansas and guess what......... they "mysteriously" died in a helicopter crash. I could go on and on about Clinton. It is not the democratic party I have a beef with, it is his lying, synical, trader ass I have a problem with! Who cares about Clinton anyways his days are over. If someone that runs for president of the democratic party has a solid foot to stand on in 2004 then maybe I will change my mind. How about the money leaders and other government officials gave to Clinton and the democratic party to spend the night in the White House in the Lincoln room, what is up with that? All I have to say is OPEN YOUR EYES!!!!!! Do I think George Bush is perfect, HELL NO! But he has my respect a lot more than Clinton did!
