first off, if its due to a website, never reformat. never. ALL website record your IP address, theres nothing you can about it, deal with it. how much;

How much RAM do you have?
How fast if you computer?
What kind of internet connection do you have?
What Operation System (Windows, Mac, etc) do you use?
Who is your Internet Provider?

When was the last time you ran Windows Update?

what exactly do you do when the computer freezes up? does it happen at random or does it only happen when you try to do a specific task.

yer cpu and ram look ok for web browsing.

what version of AOL do you have?

VERY IMPOTRANT look at the very bottom right of the screen (where your clock is) how many icons do you have there?

Diane, I'm having the same problem when I exit Creedfeed at night. When I click on the X, sometimes it closes and the main AOL homepage takes a long time to load up, and other times I just get locked up altogether and I get the AOL is not responding message. I have 8.0 and close many of my programs so it's not that I have a lot of programs running at the same time.

i have aol and i have never experienced any problems like that, atleast not on creedfeed. 7 icons on the bottom right is alot, close out those programs and next time you install a program uncheck the taskbar icon.

What web browers are you all using? You should not have a problem with the site at all unless you are running something less than IE5, Netscape 4, or WebTV.

goodmorning steve
im using Microsoft IE Build 6.0.2800.11.
this is what aol live help said to do.
Let us try deleting your AOL Adapter.
AOLTechKUJ :The AOL Adapter connects AOL to Internet Explorer on your computer. If the adapter becomes damaged, it can affect AOL's host-based features and access to the Web. Fortunately, the bad adapter can be removed and AOL will automatically build a new one.
To remove the AOL adapter, you need to close AOL, which will close this chat. At the end of our conversation, click OPTIONS and click COPY/PRINT. The text of this conversation will display in a new screen within AOL. You can print and save that file.
AOLTechKUJ :Click START, select Programs or All Programs, select America Online, then click AOL SYSTEM INFORMATION. The AOL system information tool will open. This will take a moment as the tool gathers information about your computer.
AOLTechKUJ :When the AOL System Information tool is open, click on the UTILITIES tab. Click on UNINSTALL AOL ADAPTER. America Online will update, then you will be prompted to restart the computer.
AOLTechKUJ :If you are prompted to insert your Windows CD, insert the CD, then follow the on-screen prompts. Click on YES to restart the computer. When the computer restarts, launch AOL. If you are prompted to restart again, click on Restart Now.
AOLTechKUJ :You may be prompted to restart several times. Click on Restart Now each time, until AOL launches normally. The computer restarts several times to rebuild the AOL Adapter files.

Well first of all, your computer wont have the greatest chances of working swell with your specs. and AOL on it

AOL = Havoc on computers

I've seen AOL bring many a computer down in my day :P Well, anyways, just uninstall any unneeded programs. (Make sure to do it with uninstallers and through the control panel though, DO NOT just go to folders and delete the files) Then run the disk defragmenter. And then disk cleanup. You'll probably want to run these programs at night seeing as how they take a long time.

That should help it run a bit longer.
