It appears he was also high on pot. *sighs* I just hope he can really get the help he needs now. Not just for himself, but for the sake of his wife and kids. I really feel for them.

First of all I would like to express how thankfull and appreciative my
family is for the tremendeous outpouring of love and support we have received
during this insecure time in our marriage. I was shocked at how many have
rallied around us.

I am truly sorry and seek forgiveness from my wife. As she has done the same
seeking forgiveness from me. We both know we were wrong in how we handled the argument and in some of the allegations that were made.. Now we are tring to move forward as a family.

Things were stated to the police in the heat of anger that were not
completely accurate. Things have been said to the media and reported after the fact that are not accurate as well.

As in most cases like this, the next day everyone is sorry and wishes they
didn't get the police involved and said what they did about their partner. We
are no different.

My wife and I love eachother very much and are activley seeking support to
help us resolve this tough time and bring our loving family back together as one

Together, with counciling, as well as working on changing area's of our lives
in a mutual effort to learn, grow, and mature positivley as a Mother, Father,
Husband, Wife, and Spiritual human bieng, we will overcome this : )

We would also like to apologize to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept.for
calling them to our home and taking them away from the very serious and
dangerous job of protecting our community. Anyone that was effected negativly please forgive us as well?

We would also like to ask that the media please allow our family to heal
during this painfull time and remember we have children. So please take that
into consideration and respect our privacy and let this go. I know you would
want the same if the tables were turned.

Or it could be a guy who has a serious problem with alcohol. I don't see how you can judge him as being an "abusive, controlling person" when (a) this is the first report of him ever doing anything even remotely harmful to his wife and (b) you don't even know the guy personally.

I'd like to hope so as well. I'd be more inclined to believe he was that type if this wasn't the first incident, but it apparently was. Or at least the first one reported to the cops. What we know is that he was drunk and high on pot. When people are high or drunk, they act differently than they normally would. He was impaired. I don't see how anyone can state he's an abusive, controlling person just because he came home drunk and high and threw a bottle at his wife's head. For all we know, this was a one time incident and he is not that kind of person. I'd prefer to give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise. And no, I am not at all condoning what he did because it was WRONG. I'm only saying the guy is innocent until proven guilty and, at this point, I don't think he's guilty of being abusive.

The wife of former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp asked a judge Friday to dismiss the domestic violence restraining order against her husband.

In court documents filed Friday, Jaclyn Stapp asks Circuit Judge Charles Burton to essentially nullify the injunction, which prevented Stapp from entering their home west of Boca Raton and seeing their baby, Milan.

Stapp, 33, was arrested Sunday after his wife called 911 and frantically reported he had thrown a bottle of orange juice at her. Jaclyn Stapp, who ducked, was not hurt during the incident. The original charge of felony aggravated assault already has been reduced to misdemeanor assault.

"The filing of the voluntary dismissal was at my client's direction, but shouldn't be taken as withdrawing any of the allegations which were made in the petition," said Jaclyn Stapp's attorney, Michael Gora. "My client and her husband have been attempting to reach an understanding for the benefit of their marriage and child." Gora declined to comment further.

In her petition filed Monday, Jaclyn Stapp alleged that deputies who responded to the couple's home for the domestic dispute found cocaine and marijuana in her husband's car. No drug charges have been filed against Scott Stapp. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has acknowledged another investigation is ongoing, but officials have declined to say whether drugs were found or give details.

The petition also described prior alleged incidents in which Stapp threw a baby swing at her and broke at least two doors.

The conditions of Stapp's bond still require him to avoid contact with his wife and stay away from their home, though he is allowed to use the recording studio there.

The Grammy award-winning rock singer, whose band broke up in 2004, has admitted in a Rolling Stone magazine interview to struggling with drugs.

Scott Stapp's attorney Robert Gershman declined to comment Friday but previously has denied there were any drugs on the couple's property and has said that Jaclyn Stapp's 911 call was motivated by money and custody of the child.

This whole thing just keeps getting more and more bizarre. I honestly don't know what to think anymore.

That last paragraph is really annoying. I know the lawyer has a job to do in defending his client, but c'mon, that allegation is ridiculous. I don't know much about his wife, but this pattern is all too familiar. I'm thinking she called the cops because this sort of thing has happened before, and maybe she was fed up/scared or both, especially with that baby in the house.

^ Agreed, and that's what makes it confusing. On the one hand, she's dropping the restraining order which would point to them maybe reconciling. But then you've got this lawyer that is trying to make her look bad. Where does Stapp stand on this? Does he want to reconcile or does he think his wife is greedy like this lawyer is trying to imply? I'd like to hope that they can work it out for themselves and the kids, and that it's not going to lead to a big legal showdown between Scott and Jaclyn.

I'm not saying she is abused, but dropping the restraining order is not uncommon with abused women. They do it out of fear, or because they think it's best to stay because of the children. She may think she doesn't have options. I would think in her case she might have options, but even so, you get to certain point and you don't want to upset the apple cart and make the abuser more angry by leaving. I'm hoping this is not the case with them.

There is a negative patern of behavior with Scott. I wouldn't want my sister involved with someone who chooses to conduct themselves in this manner.

There's nothing wrong with being gudgemental when recognizing abuse to ones self or others.
