I totally agree, Mark's solos are good on Weathered, but the best solo I believe on that cd is his solo in SHWM and they dropped that from the concert set list after Scott got sick. I got to hear it twice live and it just went right through me.

I never knew anything about others writing for them. Where did the info. come from? I was always under the impression that Stapp and Mark wrote the music. I would think that if someone else participated that they would be credited for it. I know nothing on this subject so I can't say much, just voicing my opinion.

I know, me too Carrie, I don't really know much about it, I just thought it was how it was done.
I agree, but Wind Up/Jeff Hanson Management was definitely pulling the strings toward the end of the tour with all the make-up dates, add-ons etc. They ran those guys into the ground. But I suppose if Creed had said "NO, we draw the line" it would've pissed off a ton of more fans.

I'm not sure AW meant that Wind-Up literally wrote half the album, though I shouldn't speak for him . Sorry, AW, if I'm misinterpreting.
From the little I know about the biz from reading about it, more than just the artist is involved in creating the music. Just as an example, in one review I read of Jerry Cantrell's new CD, the critic took issue with the some of the lengths of Jerry's songs, saying he could have used a good producer (Jerry produced the CD pretty much himself) to rein him in a little on this. His criticism was that by just creating the music for himself he was possibly alienating music fans and not reaching them, which most musicians want to do to make a living at it. I didn't really agree with that assessment, but then again, I'm a total Jerry freak who'd buy anything he would put out .

Yeah, that's a whole separate ball of wax, the whole promotion/tour aspect. If the makeup shows were in cities where they had already appeared on this tour, they could have bagged some of those. I don't know. Some of those on the West Coast were second and third attempts, I think. The Philly show was their third time in the area on this tour, I think.

Gosh, there are so many sides to how the music is put out. It is interesting how so many things play into the album. Thanks for the insight on it. I was confused for a bit. The music business seems to be 100 times more complicated then I already thought it was when you look at it that way. Crap, how do they deal with the details. Now we know why Scott and Jaggar hang up on Jeff and tell him it's after 5 when he calls about business........LOL! (Rolling Stone - Feb '02)

Yes, we were too late to get tickets for them at the FU in Feb. when they were there. Then they came back to the Tweeter Ctr. for the 2 shows in Aug. I was amazed (very pleasantly so) when I heard about the NYE show. I had no idea that they'd be coming back again.

Just a note:
Hide IS NOT a single. It was released overseas and in Mexico (I think) but not in the states, and what's released in the states is what really counts - as the music industry makes it. The singes were: My Sacrifice Bullets One Last Breath Don't Stop Dancing Weathered Bullets and Don't Stop Dancing never really made it on the radio though...

Not here in Philly at all. And very very light on Weathered as well. But we were bombarded with MS and OLB.

Thanks, for some reason I read somewhere that Weathered was the sixth single off the CD. Maybe they mean worldwide or something, rather than here...Yeah, Teri, I think Bullets lasted about a week. I have yet to hear DSD, but I don't listen to the pop-rock stations, where I'm assuming it would be played. I have heard Weathered a few times, but not like MS and OLB. I actually got sick of OLB for a while.

Yeah, my HIDE single is an import I got off ebay. OLB and MS are played like crazy. I hear Weathered and DSD every so often. I actually heard One the other day. I was happy. I like the feeling that song gives me. It makes me want to do a little something extra nice for someone that day. When I heard it, I cooked dinner for my Mother and Father in law and drove 3 towns over to bring it to them.

Hide was released and promoted in Spain, Mexico, Australia, and a few other European countries I think.
Weathered is just starting to get airplay here. It was on a local radio stations top 102 of 2002.... so that must tell you something... http://www.rock102one.com/top102_2k2.asp
