Help Me PLEEEEEEEASE!
OK, so there's a girl I really wanna ask out, but, as most of you know, I'm a total wuss at doing that. I was gonna do it today, but I didn't see her, so I may do it tomorrow if I see her.
I'm trying to be optimistic here, so in the rare possible event that she says yes, I'm gonna need to have something planned. What are some good first date ideas? I'll be taking her to dinner, but what after that? Some things I know of that I've ruled out include: 1. Walk around the lake - The one near where I live is more of a Saturday or 3rd-5th date type of place. 2. Movie - Not completly ruled out, but I've heard it's not a great idea for a first date to be at the movies, since you can't talk to each other during it. However, we would talk a lot on the 35-30 minute drive there and back, and at dinner... I've also heard that if you do go to a movie, make it either a horror film or chick flick. What are some suggestions? 3. Ice Skating - There's no rink near me (within 50 miles) 4. Mini-Golf - Nowhere around here either (I live in a 3000 population hicksville) 5. Beach - Not a great idea at night around here, maybe more of a weekend thing. HELP ME! HELP ME! HELP ME! I'M DESPERATE! H-D

if you do see a movie, take her to 28 Days Later, i haven't seen it, but she'll probably want to hold on to you if she gets scared, lol

ok, time for my user input...
first and formost... dont be cheap. if she wants the small popcorn for 20 bucks, buy it. and hope to God she puts out.... ok, ignore that lats comment ok now seriously... The Lake the lake to me sounds like a good idea AS LONG as you dont take yer to a make out point. you dont want her to get the wrong idea. if you see a bunch of cars lined up that seem to me a rockin', park a little bit away from them and dont stare at them either. i dunnp what the temp is there, but girls seem to get cold really fast, so bring some sort of light jacket or sweater. dont happen to play the guitar, do you? cause you can bring that along as well. good luck trying to conseal taht! The Theatre i dont like taking first dates to movies because one cannot talk and there are a lot of people. plus i dont feel like spending 30 bucks (tix plus extras) to make out for 45 minutes. i can do that for free elsewhere. but if she really want to go to the theatres go for it. just dont pull the popcorn trick (50 million kudos points to whoever gets that one!) The Beach as a first date the beach seems kinda too much for me. you got a college, do you live in a dorm or at home? cause some schools have film festivals so you can take her there. dont take her to a frat party. cause if shes pretty, yer gonna lose her and when you get her baclk she aint gonna be too happy. school play or performance? take her to see shakespeare or jazz band/orchestra performance. ...bet you cant say taht 5 times fast... see its kind of hard when you live in a small town. its easy for me cause i live in a city with 5 million people. theres alot of crap to do here... well think of this, what do the local teens hicks do for fun? look at that stuff and see how you can incorporate that into a more mature fashion. you dont want to seem as if yer trapted in high school. yet some childish stuff does bring back fond memories and might prove to be very entertaining.

you put your dong through the bottom of the popcorn bucket, she reaches in for some popcorn, and gets a special suprise works like a charm

Doesnt need to be anything super special.
Sacary movies with dinner at say Denny's works just fine. 1st date can be pretty casual... come to think about it I had some pretty outrageous 1st dates (candlelight picknick under starts and full moon anyone?!), but that was an overkill.

I would NOT recommend Dennys!!!!!!! Please............. that's pathetic!! There are much nicer places to take a girl out to eat, and the first date you want to impress her, Dennys wont do that!!
Take her out for ice cream after dinner though and sit and talk!

Do you have a park or an area in the center of town where you could walk together or sit and talk after dinner, Colin? If you do, either one of those might be a good place to go so you can talk more and get to know each other.
The lake sounds really nice too but Mullet's right, you don't want to give her the wrong idea on the first date. Although, I have to admit, I'd love to go for a walk by the lake or sit and talk for a while near the water with someone after having dinner with them. I also like marlsy's idea of going somewhere for ice cream.

Take her to a nice resturant not Denny's What Seila said was a good suggestion too. You need to find a place where you'll be able to talk and get to know each other.
