pearl jam concert review

got a chance to go see pearl jam on friday.... now, to preface this, i have seen creed ~8 times alterbridge once, metallica twice, tool 3 times and a dozen others.... and this would be my first pearl jam show. it was the best live performance i have EVER seen. they completely blew the arena away. going into the show, i really wanted to hear 4 songs. RVM, black, given2fly and yellow ledbetter. the setlist was as follows-

ed preset: Trouble (Cat Stevens), You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

setlist: Last Exit, Animal, Save You, American in Me, Even Flow, 1/2 Full, Given to Fly, Wishlist, In My Tree, Timeless Melody (The Las) (w/ Benjamin of Death Cab for Cutie), Rearviewmirror
encore 1 (acoustic): Lukin, I Am Mine, Nothingman, Last Kiss, Black
encore 2: FREE JAZZ, TOASTER, Corduroy, Do the Evolution, Better Man/(Save it for Later), Daughter/(Blitzkrieg Bop), I Believe in Miracles, The New Word (w/ Tim Robbins), Fortunate Son, Alive
encore 3: Rockin' in the Free World (w/ both opening acts), Yellow Ledbetter

freaking amazing. i can't wait until next tour. on a side note, the encore 2 set, you'll see a song called toaster. ed starts talking and says something to the effect of, "the next song we're going to play is why did my toaster break on the same day as my microwave".. they then proceded to jam out for 20 sec. or so and then ed sings "toast!!!" and that was the end of the song. the whole crowd was going nuts.

WAY COOL, bgivens. I'm insanely jealous. I wanted to see them on Oct. 1, but I couldn't get anyone to work for me. Fridays suck where I work. I have seen them only once and they are definitely in the top five all-time shows I have been to. They are just awe-inspiring live. I can see why their shows sell out in minutes.

Thanks for the cool review! And you got WISHLIST...I love that song

cool thanks for the review. a little ironic they are playing cat stevens songs after recent developments! they are obviously fans of death cab for cutie and PJ regulary have guests on stage with them. i've only seen PJ once but its the best gig i've seen.
