This is the crux of it right here. They were huge, but only briefly, and I agree, they don't really merit a movie on the scale of what was done with Ray Charles and Johnny Cash. Those guys were icons.

welll, even "Tenacious D" has a movie now ....... how about a comedy movie on Creed..... there are still many who joke about Stapp's being "Satanic" or "poseur".......

Honestly, I think if you wait 10 years, people won't care. If you're going to make a Creed movie, do it within the next couple of years. Cover the guys' childhood right up to the Creed breakup, maybe a few years post-Creed to get in all the Stapp stuff.
Creed isn't a legendary band and sadly, they will never be regarded as such. So I think it's wise to do it now or not do it at all.
