Hey, for all you fans of the Riot Act tour, more of the live shows are showing up in stores. I've seen Tokyo, New York, Philly, and Perth, Australia.

and more great news about their rarities album "Lost Dogs". it has a song titled "sweet lew" where bassist Jeff Ament makes his vocal debut, a song sung by guitarist Stone Gossard though he has sung before and a song written by Eddie about Layne Staley the night he died. Dogstar I know you'll have to hear that one. LOL In this song he gets stuck into singers that have copied Layne's vocal style although i'm not aware of any but oh well!

OMG, I had heard rumor that Eddie had written a song about Layne. I'm so stoked! Yeah, there aren't too many who could actually pull off copying Layne's style, LOL...I'm psyched to hear that. I'll have to pass that along to all the folks at the Jerry board. Thanks, hide!

no worries i hear its ed solo and its a very angry song yet sad as well!
oh and yesterday i went out and bought "thirteenth step". I already own some Tool so I'm accustomed to Maynard's style. I think APC is a lot more accessible then Tool good album. I must get Mer Der Norms as well. The only trouble is that not many songs are catchy!

Mer de Noms rocks. It takes me on such a trip. I love it! Thirteenth step is awesome!!! I'm really digging the mellower sound. I love The Package, Blue, The Noose....man, it's killer. I left the dang thing in my car and now I can't listen to it until I leave work...D'OH!
RE: the PJ Layne song...lots of folks on the Jerry board I belong to are ripping the band because of the way it was *leaked* to the public. I'm reserving judgment until I hear it.

i'm not sure what was with the leak but i think they send it to journalists and reveiwers a week or so before release and that is standard practise. My fav song of 13th step would be..oh i can't remember the name starts with s softer song Maynard's voice is great there. I think it might be called Staggering or something like that. Thanks for the info about the Jerry board I'll pass that on.

the song is stranger that is what i was thinking of great song and i agree with noose, pet is also great and weak and powerless. back on to PJ they have outdone themselves again. At an acoustic show for charity they pulled out a new song "man of the hour" from an upcoming soundtrack for Tim Burton's new movie. They also played a rare cover of Bob Dylan's "master of war". I've posted the lyrics below to their new song.
Man of the Hour Tidal waves don’t, beg forgiveness, Crashing on in wait. Father he en,joyed collisions, others walked away. The _2wds__(self- ?) falls in vain. And the, doors open out, As the, bells are ringing down. Because the, man of the hour Is taking, his final bow. Bye for now 10 measure instrumental Nature has it’s, own religion, Gospel of the land. A Father ruled by, long division, That young man____3wds_(takes a stand) Old man comprehend, And the sky breaks at dawn, Shedding light upon this town We’re all gonna drown (emphasize all) As the, man of the hour, (Whispered) Is taking, his final bow. (Whispered) Bye for now (fades) And the road The other man prayed __1 wd___ them saints up my waaaayy Let’s ___3 wds And just for me, Because, Gooood made looooove his own waaaaaay And the, man of the hour, (whispers) Is taking, his final bow. As the, curtain comes down, I feel that, this is just, Bye for now?(fades) __________________ We may pass this way but once. Therefore, any goodness we can do... Any kindness we can share... I've heard about this release and can't wait to get it. There is a lot of stuff coming out that I want. November 11th there is PJ but also Bruce Springsteen's "Essential Bruce Springsteen" cd. On November 18th there is the Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band "Live In Barcelona" dvd. Then on November 25th the Johnny Cash boxed set "Unearthed" will be released.
I need more money. :P Ah, I still need to get APC and Fuel as well.
