we´re allowed to forget!!!

Sorry, I didn´t mean to offend anyone!

What I meant was something like this:
but remember when teacher used to joke about the fact that´s when it´s night here, it´s day in Japan and vice-versa???

(Of course she didn´t get into details... I think I only learned the reason why later in Geography...)

Greenwich Mean Time comes from the fact that the Prime Meridian's (the longitude line off which all others on the earth are based) official location is at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich England. I went there about 8 years ago. Got to stand right on the Prime Meridian. It is what all other time in the world is based off of as well.

There must be some sort of locator at the Observatory to mark the Prime Meridian. 0 degrees longitude. That's pretty cool that you got to stand on it, Rob.

WHere have I been? Hmmmm...In and out. Goes in spurts.

Yeah there is a big metal line in the ground there in Greenwich, it's pretty cool.

I guess what I was trying to say is how does someone over the age of about 8 in any developed country not know about GMT. Its like the starting point for current timezones...

Its like saying "Im a christian and all, but who is this Jesus fella? He some sort of prophet?"

I suppose this America place I live in isn't quite as developed as you are there in the future. Sorry, I didn't learn about it in school, damn little hut in the middle of the American jungle.

Well said eyes, maybe it's the further we get away from the age of 8 that those things just kind of slip into the resesses of our minds.

Other kinds of things fill the brain. sometimes overfill the brain.

And I guess I'll never stop asking when I don't know something.

LOL
