Well, I took him in the fifth round. I expected that to be a steal, as the guy is capable of being the top SS in the league, now that A-Rod is a 3B exclusively. Unfortunately for me, I did not grab a back-up SS. Wait, I did grab a back-up, but it was Mark "mr.K" Bellhorn. I cut him prior to the start of the season, thinking he was just eating up space on my roster. I watched the game last night and saw Nomar motionless on the ground. In about one second's time, I sprung up from my seat, ran over to the Computer and searched for a back-up SS. I did not see any really good players(it's a fairly deep league) but I had to pick up someone. So I picked up Clint Barmes, who is having a fantastic year(thus far) in Colorado. I'm not really comfortable with Barmes the whole season, so I'll probably try to acquire another SS from another team. But this still hurts my team a lot, just thinking about the other players I could have grabbed in the 5th round.

Yeah, but he was healthy last year. And I thought that he would be healthy this year as well. But I'm considering trading for Renteria, as he would be a good replacement for Nomore.

Yeah, I heard someone else call him that, and decided that's what I'll call him from now on. It pretty much fits him.

i tell ya what, the Dodgers have been pretty surprising thus far... I'm hoping the Padres can reel 'em in soon. I guess, out of all the teams out West, I like San Diego most, just b/c they're hardcore underdogs. plus they got quality players who aren't necessarily huge bloated superstars. i'm not too worried about LA's (the Dodgers, I should clarify) hot start, b/c the Cards started off a whopping 12-11 last year, and wound up winning the Central by 13.

god, renteria is so fucking overrated. i'm glad the cards didn't pursue him too much. not for $8 million this year, esp since they got little David Eckstein, who has pretty similar career stats (esp. on offense). i know a fair number of people who were dismayed when the cards "let" him "get away", but i could care less. no player who hits a mere .280, and hits for avg power and isn't even that fast (he doesn't register that many stolen bases) is worth that much to me. plus, eckstein's a scrapper.

Dude tried to trade me out of Eck on my fantasy league. I didn't realize he was playing like that. When I checked the stats, I said no way. He is kicking serious ass. I like Eck. He's a gamer. Sorta reminds me of Biggio.

The Braves are my team. My whole family has followed them for years...even back when they were HORRIBLE!!! Their pitching has been superb thus far. Now we just need to get the bats back in the lineup and we'll be on our way to the 14 consecutive division title!!!

when were the Braves last horrible? like 15, 20 years ago? lol
2 things i don't like about atlanta: (1) (no offense directed at you, ben, but...) the fans are horrible. they "know" they're gonna win the pennant, so they don't bother even going to reg season games, hardly.... (2) even despite having won 13 pennants in a row, how many WS championships do they have (let alone, how many appearances do they have)? and in the last 10 years?

Right on about the Braves. If somebody in the NL East could get their shit together, they could take out the Braves in the playoffs. What do they have, 1 WS title out of all those division titles? Meh...Hampton's looking good, though. He's kicking ass against the Phillies.

Mulder just pitched complete game, as in 10 innings. Shit, should have gotten the baseball package. Got Clements on my fantasy league, but I'll take the hit on that one.
