I don't think anyone's saying he's better than Stapp. And IMO it's not THAT bad. I'm not going to go run and jump off a cliff from the pain of hearing it.

Hmm, you can't really say that Stapp is better then Kennedy, or Kennedy is better than Stapp, or whatever, because from what I hear they both have a very different style of singing!
They aren't better than one another, just different.

Well, I can personally say that I think Scott is better than Myles, and Scott and Mark fit together better than Myles and Mark, but hey, I'll accept it, Myles is a good vocalist, and I'm already singing along to him on the radio, so that's a good thing. Now I just have to learn not to get mad when the dj's call alterbridge creed, and then diss them both. I can say one thing about Open Your Eyes, Mark used a guitar that has the same sound, if not the same one as the one he used on My Sacrafice. He sure gets into it on that solo. I recorded the song off of the radio the other day, and then I took that tape and got another blank tape sitting around the house and recorded Open Your Eyes over and over and over. I know most of the words now!
I have a question. Am I the only one who has the all the cd's marked on their calender, and then count the days back to where when I X of a day I can look and see how many day I have left until each CD (AB cd, Scott's passion stuff, Compilation CD) comes out, and each different cd is marked in a different color, and at the top of the page you have a key so you know what color is what cd??? Am I the one who, the only one who, would carry on that far???

i tend to like kennedy's vocals a bit better than stapps.... he's kind of got a cornell thing going on, but not quite. i heard the song the other day on the radio, and without hearing the name of it, i knew it was tremonti/phillips... they sound exactly the same... which is good, i love that sound. the guitar solo seemed a bit out of place, i'm guessing tremonti just really wanted to cut loose.

Same here, bgivens. I'm liking Kennedy a lot, especially now that I have his Mayfield Four stuff.

Myles is way better than Stapp, he's trained and he has absolute control of his voice, going high to low and back to high really easily.
But Stapp has a way of his own, he's an excellent frontman and he own stage presence. Just because I don't think he's the best it doesn't mean I'm not a fan of him. He's one of my fav singers and he has a style of his own that's unique. But vocally, just take a listen to weathered tour bootlegs and you'll notice how much he struggles to stretch his voice for high ranges.

I guess Scott's voice is just what I like, nothing else even compares IMO, but everyone has their own taste. Scott's voice is what brought me to Creed, along with the Lyrics, but don't get me wrong, I love everything Mark, Flip, and Brian do, they are all so good. Myles has an awesome voice, and I admit, he has alot more range, but Scott's still my thing. I like both of their voices, and I'll also have to get used to Myles voice, it's so different it's alot to take in.

the difference between stapp and myles is obvious, though who is better is everyone's opinion.
Personally I think stapp convey's a bit more emotion because he uses a raspy voice, and that just generally gives a much more emotional involvement in the song. Myles has incredible control and also can hit a lot of high notes, which convey emotion just as much as rasp does, but you don't sing all high notes, while you can rasp on any note you want. Another consideration i don't think people have thought about is that in the long run, Myles is the better vocalist, not because of his range, but because of that very same rasp that stapp uses. When a vocalist uses that raspiness on his singing, he is basically taking his vocal chords, gripping them tight and not letting them move, and then pushing tons of air through them. This can cause extreme sore throats and some times can cause polyps (very bad, requires surgery). In the long run Myles will far outlast Stapp, he will sound better at the end of the sets as well (listen to concerts aside from the house of blues and you'll hear what i mean, stapp at the beginning sounds awesome, but by the end he is hoarse). Myles will be able to sing entire sets and still sound just as great at the end as he does at the beginning. A similar example i could give is with james hetfield of metallica. Up until the black album hetfield sang with his classic raspy voice, but he was disappointed with the way he sounded at the end of sets because he became hoarse. He started taking voice lessons post black album, and now he does what i do: throw the rasp in on the occasional parts where it's appropriate and sounds good, but otherwise sing similar to how myles does. This allows the "rock" feel of a performance to remain, while not damaging your vocal chords nearly as much. All those concerts that had to be canceled because of scott's throat were largely due to his overuse of the raspy voice (not saying it sounds bad at all, i love it, but as good as it sounds, it's only to his detriment). There will be far fewer cancelled tour dates with Myles' style of singing. That's just something for anyone here who's had a show canceled on them to chew on Alright that's my 2 cents, take it for what it's worth or move to canada and double it.

that is a very good overview and i think are you spot on. i would conclude just by this very simple statement. Myles-better vocalist quite easily with more range and control and he can seriously shred as well. Stapp-the better frontman and entertainer and i can also identify with his lyrics which i also feel are better.
