I wouldn't compare the two, I like few Led Zepplin songs, I like all of Creed's material.

Funny thing is that creed's winning by a landslide. Good thing I didnt have Beatles as an option instead of Zepplin or poor Beatles would have been put to shame by you guys.

Exactly, you can't compare. Led Zep's songs have been played for many years; Creed's been heard since 1997. And their music is totally different. Only one song of Creed's (WGMB) sounds a little Zeppelin-esque, if you will (long, epic, heavy on drums/cymbals toward the end; that's when I hear the slight resemblance). And like it's been said, Stapp hasn't compared their music to Led Zep's, just said they were an influence, as were U2 and The Doors.
I didn't even do the poll either.... JUST GIVE LOVE TO ALL -- Scott Stapp

Thing is, Led Zep are LEGENDS. No question. Creed are a really good band right now, I hope one day they can be compared to Led Zep.
By the way, someone already metioned it, Stapp didn't compare Creed to Zep because that would have been suicide, just like Oasis comparing themselves to the Beatles. He said people ripped on Zep early in their careers, similiar to critics ripping on Creed. |

Oasis always say thay are better than Beatles and yet sell millions of copies of their cd's (theyre much bigger in rest of the world than they are in US). So no it's not suicide.

I know Oasis is successful in Europe. I believe they would have been even more successful in the US had they not made that statement. But that's just what I think.

Nope. People like Beatles in Europe much more than they like them in US (not saying they are not loved here). Oasis is just very British in their music, and british bands have hard time being successful here lateley. Aside of some success Radiohead and Coldplay have got.

Are you just causing controversy. Whatever, Stapp didn't compare band to band. He said they were similiar in the way critics treated them early in their career.
And how can you say NOPE to what I think, it's what I think. |
