-the best album released this year?
Thats a hard question to answer, since the year isn't over. Probably Nickelback's "Someday"

-the best song? Someday by Nickelback, Falls On Me by Fuel

-the best new band? (band that released its first album)
Evanescence
-the best riff?
Hmm, either the verse riff from System of A Down's "Boom" or the intro riff to "Won't Back Down" by Fuel.
-the best new guitarist, bassist and singer?
Guitarist:Hmm, Dan of Disturbed is pretty awesome, but not the best.
Bassist: I don't think Flea or John Paul Jones can be beat. Fuck that Rancid bassist. Stupid punkers think that a playing a banjo run on a bass makes the bassist a bass god. Shows how much they know.
Singer: Chad Kroeger has been kicking some ass, I'm digging A Perfect Circle's lead singer. Its hard to say. Though theres just as many bad singers, as there is good singers.

-the best guitar solo?
TIE: Godsmack - Straight Outta Line and Someday, Nickelback

-the best movie soundtrack?
No contest, Daredevil (TTT came out in December last year Steve )
-the best concert?
I havent been to many this year, so I can't say.

I know my list might sound biaist, oh well.

Hmmm. Tough one. I'll decide and post it later.

-the best new band? (band that released its first album)
Big Dismal

-the best riff?
Troy Stetina Project - My Disguise

-the best new guitarist, bassist and singer?
Guitarist: Troy Stetina, Bassist: Jeremy Coan (Faktion), Singer: Amy Lee (Evanescence)

-the best guitar solo?
Troy Stetina Project - Still Photo Day

-the best movie soundtrack?
Daredevil

-the best concert?
Nintendo Fusion Tour (Evanescence, Cold, Revis, Cauterize, Finger Eleven)

Yeah... well, he's not exactly popular, and I had never heard him or even of him before. The new album rocks, though. His sound really stuck out to me. Honestly, how many people can say their fans of the Troy Stetina Project and actually know some of their stuff?
