Fruscinate releases demos from solo album

press release reports: John Frusciante, the acclaimed guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a highly regarded vocalist and songwriter in his own right, is offering both acoustic and demo versions of key tracks from his latest Warner Bros. Records solo album, Shadows Collide With People. The songs will be made available exclusively as full-length audio streams on his website, http://www.johnfrusciante.com.

Im releasing these versions because there was so much production on the record, remarked Frusciante, whose Shadows Collide With People is his fourth solo album. I thought it would be nice for some of the fans who prefer a more raw, stripped down sound. For the same reason I wanted to include the original demos. Some people actually prefer hearing things this way and I really pushed my little 8-track cassette to the limit. I figured I'd do a performance in my living room and put it on the internet so people could hear me doing these songs as if it were a live acoustic show.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Bummer about there being so much production on the record, though. Sometimes, it can be overdone.

I'm not a big RHCP fan to begin with, but the guy is talented.

some of their stuff is okay but i'm not really a major fan of theirs either. you can't dispute his talent though. actually apart from anthony all the members are up there as the best exponents of their craft.
