anyone else concerned about Stapp's vocals?
anyone else concered about Stapps vocal ability to make it through the end of the tour. I mean it was night 1 and he was struggling with "one last breath" for example. I think his voice is shot. James hetfield blew his voice on the black album, but is still going strong, any thoughts?

Don't forget they were recording the album for the last 2 months and have been rehearsing a bunch as well.

Re: anyone else concerned about Stapp's vocals?
Go back to old Creed videos on youtube and see how powerful his voice is in those vids. I had read he had problems his solo tour as well. Im not trying to be debbie downer. Im pumped to see New Creed, but my concern is will he be able to make it into September/October. It will be interesting to see how he sounds tonite on VH1..

I thought One Last Breath was really good...
I'm sure he'll be fine, it was probably first night jitters. |

Re: anyone else concerned about Stapp's vocals?
After listening to the whole show I'm definitely worried...I was sort of prepared for that though seeing as his voice has been in bad shape for a few years now. Also they're tuning the songs down a half-step now to give him a little help but even that didn't do much good which is depressing. I guess we'll just have to deal with it and hope that he gets better...

I've just heard One and I thought he sang that really well...
I'm sure it's first night jitters... Scott puts all he can into his live peformances, i'm confident he'll deliver. Alot of bands do tune the songs down a bit live, it's pretty common. I'm not that worried, if his voice isn't that great live then i'm sure on the album it'll be better! |

Re: anyone else concerned about Stapp's vocals?
I was there and thought he sounded great, but maybe I'm not the best one to go by, because I've never noticed him missing notes except for that one note on One Last Breath a few times, and I thought he sounded great on that last night.
I don't know, I never got the whole Scott Stapp can't sing thing. It was definitely a running theme through the crowd last night before the show. If I heard one more person say, "Scott Stapp can't sing like Myles Kennedy", I was gonna throw up. I love Mark's guitar playing, and the rhythm section is great, but what drew me to Creed was Scott's vocals. Alter Bridge just doesn't do it for me. I guess I like something I can sing along with. I can't sing with Myles. That may very well be what makes him great, but I guess I just like to sing along too much to enjoy AB. Not all of us are born sopranos! |

Ya its good to hear someone that was there last night. I want to see tonite on Vh1 how it sounds, I hope I'm wrong! As far as Alter Bridge vs Creed thing goes, I was a die hard Creed fan but when they broke up Alter Bridge to me was a breath of fresh air. They stood out from anything else on the radio. Ya alot of us can't sing like myles but I can still sing along..

I'm not really surprised that his voice isn't that great anymore. We all knew that already anyway.

ya know we are judging stapp off the bat way too quick. its only been one day. Scott stapp is awesome and always will be. We wanted creed and now we got it lets be happy and support them all the way. elvis isnt young anymore.. he got fat and blew up but he was still the king... well stapp is still stappy

He sounds like a completely different person. I had no idea how bad it was.

we all have our faults.. things were not proud of .. mistakes left unforgiven at times.. you know stapp has come a very long way. he not only talks the talk he is also walking the walk. I love the fact that all creed haters are going to get served a nice taste of real rock and roll...chris cornell, nickelback and daughtry and all the others are going to fall beneath creed now and bow down to the kings of rock music.

Re: anyone else concerned about Stapp's vocals?
Come on faith have in Creed!
I'm sure that if the guys didn't think Stapp's voice was good enough to go through this tour that they wouldn't have toured. Alot of bands reunite and have different band members... They could have just booted Stapp out if they didn't think he was up to scratch. The other band members must have faith in Stapp to be doing this.. So why don't we have some faith in him? |
