Im listening to my own prison and I love the song lyrically but what is this

"should have been dead on a sunday morning banging my head"

i think its referring to the reserction but what is "banging my head"

The line has nothing to do with the resurrection.

That lyric came from an experience that Stapp had when he tried shrooms for the first time. I believe it went that he overdosed slightly and started banging his head on the wall because he thought he was going to die.

if I'm not mistaken, that little tidbit used to be in the band FAQ back in the day on creed.com. or perhaps on some fansite. but what Rune said is precisely what i had read.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured, although I hadn't read that. It makes sense, given the overall theme of the song.
