Ok, so very early friday morning i left for Dallas, TX to attend a NCPA reception with the lovely Tori Clark. It was a great experience. She talked about the new heath care package in congress's conference committe (write your congressman) but the thing she talked about that stuck us as surprising was about 9/11. She said that when the last plane struck the pentagon, Rumsfeld was not in his office nor in the underground layers, he was outside near the blast. The surprising part was that he was not rushed out into hiding immediately, he was there for a good hour helping carry out the injured victims. The whole time I was remembering watching the TV and seeing the entire capitol being evacuated and watching all the senators and congressmen fleeing. I dunno, just caught me by surprize. After that I went to the Galleria and stumbled upon a Republican Women's reception. There were alot of very attractive women there. They all saw me in my suit and kept asking if i were part of security. That was fun at first, after a while it got annoying. When i told them i wasnt part of security that i was "just there" alot asked why. I told them i just came back from a NCPA reception a few of them went "really?" in an interested manner. being the 20 year old hound dog that i am, i tried to capitalize of it. didnt win, but i did have a good. came back this afternoon to make it to class. Hey you don't think Republican women can be hot hugh?! :P
As far as Rumsfeld is concerned yeah he is not this "stuck up prick" that people think he is. He actually is a very intelligent, compassionate and caring person. I think people get swept up in the "media trash" about politics. I just try to get all the info and search for the facts, not trash talk. I love to debate politics SOMETIMES myself, it keeps your brain sharp!
