I'm thinking of giving it a try. I have a friend who swears by it.

I have to agree. When I was using IE, I would do a spyware check, and come up with well over 100 problems. With Firefox, I never have had more than 15. Firefox is much more secure. The only problem is that some sites require IE in order to run properly, but the number of those sites is rapidly decreasing.
OH, and very few pop-ups get through the blocker |

is there any way to get the full list of favorites from IE docked on the lefthand side of the screen, as w/ IE?

You can import your favorites from IE to Mozilla. The one thing that I personally find bad with Mozilla is that loads slower. Now, websites might be loading faster, BUT since IE is preloaded into Windows, it will take a lot longer to start it up as opposed to IE.
