Info. on Stapp and Passion CD......
I found this information at Passion Breeds Followers. Many thanks to Frankie.
It is taken from an Eonline article posted about the breakup..... "Stapp recorded four songs inspired by Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ (featuring Lenny Kravitz on bass) that will appear on the all-star compilation album The Passion of the Christ: Songs of Inspiration, due out Aug. 31 also on Wind-Up, with the first single titled "Relearn Love." Now if we can trust Eonline's information....looks like the dude has four songs on that CD. And note who's playing bass. Alot of people laughed when he mentioned working with Kravitz. Looks like he wasn't kiddin....... |

No, that was the actual movie soundtrack, Hayley. This record is music inspired by the movie.

Actually there have been two other CDs related to this movie....the Soundtrack which was simply music that was actually used in the movie. There was then another CD of music "inspired by", but it included alot of country artists...I think even Bob Dylan had something on that one...most of it wasn't original material either, I believe. Sorry, but I don't have any info. on who else might be on there....I kind of get the feeling though that it will be more contemporary people....maybe some of the ones mentioned for the first one, who didn't get included? I guess we will find out on August 31st. As far as information about Stapp....what I know is that he is currently recording in Miami. Most all the stories about the breakup have also mentioned that he is working with a Canadian band....Tea Party....about which I've heard lots of good things. |

i've also heard that he will be working with the tea party on his solo album. i've seen them live, they have to be one of my favorite bands. their style is similar to creeds in that it is very spirtual, lacking in the musical department compared to creed though. a good slow song to check out by them would be "Heaven's Coming Down"

I wasen't sure if the Kravitz thing was for real but cool that it appears that it is true. Kravitz and The Tea Party are wise choices and are names that should keep Scott in the spotlight.

hide has a few questions about stapp's solo work (yes i always have questions )
so kravitz has played bass on the songs that will be on the passion album while the tea party will be his backing band? anyone such as frankie have an idea how involved the party are in this album? are they involved in the songwriting or they a relatively faceless backing band? last question when does stapp get to beat up fred durst?

and this from the same article: I'm not Frankie...but maybe this might answer something...the key word in the quote is HELP...and that can come in ways...it doesn't necessairly mean they will be his back up band, as it seems some are assuming...possibly it will be more on a collaborative level...and this too can take on many layers as well...we won't really know for sure, i don't believe, until stapp has completed his work. ~Ann~ a.k.a M.O.M/Cdm2 |
