This is one reason I am against abortion! I myself have been trying to get pregnant for many years..with no sucess so far. While adoption is an alternative...the waiting lists are TREMONDOUS...not to mention how expensive it is just to adopt. Best friends of ours are in the process of adopting (has been over a year and still nothing yet)..they are paying over $25,000 to try to get a baby..and that baby isn't even likely going to be an American baby.

I have sat back and watched my step sister get pregnant 3 different times....and have 3 different abortions. All because she was too lazy or to ignorant to use birth control. It made me sick to watch it....and we went many years without speaking. She was later diagnosed with cancer of the uterous and was told she'd never have children again...but by some miracle of God..she got pregnant again..and actually kept this one...and actually married the father.

Abortion should NEVER be a means of birth control! And joking about abortion really is quite sick...and very insensitive to those out there who can't have children.

i agree with ya, "O"...abortion should not be a form of birth control...and yes, children could be adopted by loving families that truely want them. Children are a gift from God...and our future...and should never be thrown away like yesterday's garbage.

Yet, i still would have to question that under such circumstances as rape resulting in pregnency...or a possibility of death to the mother...whether or not abortion would be a viable choice...

there in lies the paradox...and the closest thing to TRUTH in this earthly existance...lies in paradox...

Me too Ann...and that is probably where I differ from most of those on the "right" lol. I do feel if in the instance of rape...or high risk of death to the mother...that abortion should be an option in those cases. I guess my disagreement with abortion is those out there who use it as an alternative to birth control...and there are way too many of those who do just that. There really is no excuse these days not to use some form of birth control if you can't abstain...you can even get it in the schools nowadays for free.

I have to add too...that my step sister had all those pregnancies and abortions...all before she was 18 (she's 25 now). It was like one a year from the time she was 15 It truely disgusted me...

abortions aren't solely religious there, fella. it's a social issue in general. people do use relgions as reason for their stance, but the other half doesn't.

I'd also hope you'd be intelligent enough to take advice from some who is your senior (dogstar) and apply it in general to your decorum on the entire board.
