Wow, Kim, that's some story. I wish your brother the best.
Now, for what I think of OLB (Our Lady Beace...good one, Marcos). This is an idea I got from one girl, I don't know if it was on CreedFeed or Creed-Fanatic or what, but she said that she doesn't think it's about suicide, but rather Stapp's saying that he's already six feet down and he's thinking maybe he can get out ("Maybe six feet ain't so far down"). I agree with this, even tho when I first heard the song I thought it was about suicide too.

I think CREED wen through a lot of difficult times! And that we always were there for them no matter what! ( this post is not about OLB ). What makes me feel bad that some of us start to forget how much CREED means to us! I'm not talking about you guys! I love CREED with all my heart! ROCK ON!

I feel the song is about you take that one last breath and keep on going .There is a story where a man is walking with his mule (No Tn Jokes) and the mule falls into a deep hole and the man can't get the mule out , so he get's some friends and they grab shovels and start shoveling the dirt onto the mule. The mule just put's it's head down and prepares to die. As they shovel the dirt in to their astonishment the mule takes a step up until finally the mule is able to get out of the very deep hole that the man thought was going to be the mules grave. The morale to this story is life will shovel dirt upon you , in fact so much you feel you can't take anymore. But God promises us he will never give us more than we can bare , so take that one last breath and climb out of the hole we find ourselves in daily.

That's a grea story and a great interpretation, I never thought of it that way. But you're right, God says he won't give us more than we can handle. When I'm having a difficult day, I remember that.

Ok, here's my two cents . I think this song is about choices. He's struggling with where he is and he is asking for guidance and help. Does he give up, give in and take the wrong/easy road (six feet from the edge, death of his soul perhaps?) or does he hang on, take that one last breath and make that push for the more difficult road, maybe accepting his God into his heart, accepting his life as it is or making the necessary changes inside and out. It's very difficult for some people, easy for others.

I've often thought that too, Dogstar. Especially the part about him looking for guidance and help. The part near the beginning and at the end where he says "I'm holding on to all that's safe" to me says that as well as needing something to hold onto for comfort and security.
