Yeah, I think when Red Dragon came out, there was some confusion as to where exactly it fit in with Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal. It is the prequel, dealing with Dr Lecter first getting caught.

As good as Manhunter might be, it doesn't have Edward Norton in it.
