Re: Anyone going to see Tremonti in NYC tonight?

Well, I managed to get there in time, and it was SO worth it. Tremonti rocked the house. I really hadn't heard anything but Waste Your Time, and I have to say, I was happy to hear the heaviness in the music. Vocally, he sounded great, really strong. He doesn't have great range, but he's definitely learned to use what he has. I was pleasantly surprised! He also did quite well as a frontman, at one point pulling a Trent Reznor and handing the mike to various people on the rail to let them sing a line. He seemed really comfortable in this role, I must say.

And seeing E-Rock rip it up on guitar and Garret Whitlock on drums was awesome. Had me longing for the Submersed days! Wolfgang van Halen was terrific on bass as well. We got a b-side that they hadn't played live yet (don't ask me what the title was because I couldn't understand what he was saying half the time because the sound wasn't great in this place), so that was cool. The sound at this club wasn't too good, but as usual, I perched myself near the sound board for optimum listening pleasure, and that helped a little.

The turnout was kind of low (pretty small club as well), but the crowd was quite spirited. Mark remarked on it and thanked us several times for showing up. I highly recommend catching him on this solo tour if you can. Definitely some kick-ass music!
