Rolling Stone's Fall Music Preview...
CREED
FULL CIRCLE 10/27
LOWDOWN: "I think the world was tired of Creed," says guitarist Mark Tremonti. Now, six years after their messy breakup, the Florida foursome is back, and hoping their time away has made fans hungry again. Produced by Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Daughtry), Creed's first album since 2001 is, according to singer Scott Stapp, "the heaviest record we've ever done": "Bread of Shame" is a metal-edged scorcher in the "Bullets" mode, and lead single "Overcome" mines their past missteps for blustery rock triumph. As for the haters who still aren't convinced, Stapp has news: "We're here," he says. "And we're not gonna go anywhere."
