Another recent review of the Cardboard Vampyres for you Jerry fans...
This is from the show at the Roxy on 7/16/04...The review is from DirtyBones at the Sony music board:
My ears are still ringing. What a rock show. Jerry Cantrell is such a rock star. They played a variety of classic metal tunes including 3 Cult Songs, "Love Removal Machine," "Sun King" and "Wild Flower," and THREE AIC songs: "Would?" "Sea of Sorrow," and "It Ain't Like That!" I know, it wasn't Layne singing, I get that, but it was Jerry...and it was so good to hear him play any AIC songs. It didn't matter who was singing anyway, I was up against the stage and couldn't hear John Corabi's vocals. There were a few fans of Billy Duffy and the Cult, but this was clearly and Alice crowd. Screaming along to the AIC songs(louder than the vocals from where I was) and when the band would walk of the stage for the encores, the entire crowd chanted, "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" Prompting Jerry to walk back onto the stage and say, "What's my name bitch!" Classic. Jerry sang a couple of tunes. "Squeeze Box" by the Who and another song that was very familiar but the artist and title escapes me. During the latter tune former Cult bassist Billy Morrison played the D-Trip guitar while Jerry took the mic. During the solos of the song, Jerry put down the mic and did some stage diving. I took a Cantrell shoe to the head, but what the fuck, it was Jerry. Again, a ton of Alice fans including a woman who was seeing Jerry for, like, the 22nd time...some crazy # like that. She also kissed another chick at the show, which was interesting...There was also this young guy that looked just like Layne. If he told me he was his long lost brother I would've believed him. He even had the hair pulled back a-la Mad Season era Layne. Very creepy. The show was awesome. It was way too hot and sweaty, but, again, it was my first live experience with Mr. Cantrell or any form of Alice In Chains so it was well worth it. I was a little bummed they didn't play Man in the Box, a song they've played at previous shows, but again, I'll get over it. I shot a few pictures on one of those throw away cameras. As soon as they're developed I'll post them for you to check out. If anyone else was at the show and you've got something cool to add, let's hear it. Later."

I can't believe he was stage diving...LMAO! Gooooo Jerry!
