Ok, here is my definition of thick sound. Thin sound v.s Thick sound could be compared to water v.s butter. Thin sound is real twangy and not much substance to it, like water. But on the other hand, thick sound is really heavy and has a lot of mass to it, like butter. Thin sound would be Dave Matthews, thick sound would be any band thats bright enough to switch over to Mesa Boogie amps...like metallica, their heavy stuff is thick, and even some of their mellow stuff is really thick.I guess, without the use of my voice on here, i could say that thin is like the sound "Boing" and thick is like the sound "BOOM" if that makes any sense to you at all. It sounded good when i thought it up, and thats the best way to really describe it. Overall thick is really bassy without a lot of room for background silence...
