He's an idiot. I have no respect for men who beat up on women. I'm assuming that is what he did since they said it was domestic violence.

Wow, not good, not good at all. I hope the article is accurate in saying that no one was injured.

Wife claims former Creed singer threw bottle at her at their home near Boca

WEST PALM BEACH -- The former lead singer of the rock band Creed on Monday was freed from the Palm Beach County Jail on supervised release after he was accused of assaulting his wife at their $4.9 million home west of Boca Raton over the weekend, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Scott Stapp, 33, who has had run-ins with police for alleged drunken behavior and reckless driving, was released without having to post a bond on the second-degree misdemeanor count.

Under the conditions set by Circuit Judge Cory Ciklin, Stapp can have no contact with his wife nor enter their home except to use the recording studio there. He is also required to undergo random drug testing and consume no alcohol or illegal drugs.

According to a sheriff's report, deputies were called to the home on the 8800 block of Twin Lake Drive in Long Lake Estates, which Stapp co-owns with his wife, former Miss New York Jaclyn Nesheiwat, around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Nesheiwat. told officers that her husband arrived home around 8 a.m. She said he was stumbling and appeared impaired. She said she began questioning him and it led to an exchange that ended when she said he threw a bottle of orange drink at her. The bottle missed, she said, but broke when it hit the floor of her bedroom. She told deputies she ran away and called 911 for help.

Stapp's lawyer, Robert Gershman, denied a bottle was thrown.

Stapp married Nesheiwat in 2006. The couple exchanged vows at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, an estate on the waterfront of Biscayne Bay in Miami. While on the way to their honeymoon in Hawaii, he was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public at the Los Angeles airport.

On Thanksgiving 2005, he got into a widely publicized fight in a Baltimore hotel with members of the rock band 311.

He was arrested on a reckless driving offense in 2002 by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, state records show. After the airport incident, Stapp promised to get his life together. According to an article in the music magazine Rolling Stone, Stapp was traveling with a "sobriety coach" while on tour last year.

In January, he and his wife had a baby girl, Milan Hayat Stapp. He also has a son, Jagger, from a previous relationship.

The rocker founded Creed and won a Grammy Award in 2000 for the song With Arms Wide Open. He went out on his own last year with the solo album The Great Divide.

Nesheiwat has been the director of public affairs for the Scott Stapp Foundation, which promotes healthy parent-child relationships, People magazine reported. Earlier this month, Stapp announced his sponsorship of The Haven, a group home for abused and neglected boys west of Boca Raton.

Wow, I'm shocked. I just woke up and saw the headline on Yahoo news and was like "what has he done now?" It appears he has once again fallen off the wagon, which is a huge shame, especially since he is married and has a young daughter and son. That's gotta be tough on them. All people can hope for is that he can finally turn this all around and put down the bottle.

Exactly, titan. Addiction is so evil. I really hope he kicks it for good this time.

Re: Stapp arrested again

Yeah. He's in need of a good sponsor, a good clergyperson and, most importantly, a swift kick in the ass. He can beat this addiction, but only if he is willing to put forth the effort and seek the help he needs.

They just said recently that the charge has been reduced to a misdemeanor.

Re: Stapp arrested again

Yeah, no surprise there. I guess since he didn't wave a gun around, it's not considered a felony. I just hope he wises up before the violence escalates.

Re: Stapp arrested again

^ Yeah, definitely. I think if he can just stay away from the alcohol, he won't get into so much trouble. That's what it all is: the alcohol. It's been at the root of every single negative incident he's been involved in. The bar room fight, the 311 fight, the arrest at the airport, the Casino Cinema thing and now this. You'd think that after all the crap that happened back in 2005/2006, he'd have learned his lesson. Apparently not as he's done yet another self-destructive thing. I understand that alcoholics often fall off and take a drink after months of sobriety. I'm just hoping that this finally convinces him of the fact that he cannot drink alcohol, period. And that he needs to enter a serious rehab program because he has a serious problem. Granted, it could have been a lot worse. But that doesn't make what apparently went down OK. Let's just hope that this doesn't ruin whatever career he has left, that it doesn't end his marriage and that it results in him really getting help for this issue.

Re: Stapp arrested again

Yeah, alcoholism is tough to kick. Ask Trent Reznor. He fell off a few times before it sunk in. He's been sober about four years or so.

Re: Stapp arrested again

That's why he needs a sponsor and needs AA and serious rehab. I don't see him beating it without those three things.

Re: Stapp arrested again

He seemed to be going along fine -- for a while, I guess. Drinking is hard to kick. I have a brother who's an alcoholic and he's tried several times to stop.

So sad to hear this...actually when I saw this title i thought it was an old thread with some new point of view...only now i realized it was a NEW one!!! Bad news about Stapp!! Its really bad to see how he seems to avoid to understand that he has a big problem with alcohol..how he has a self destructive beha viour ..We all know that his returning in a solo career was beneath our expectations...but he needs to find a way to deal with this..and using alcohol is not the solution...like titan said :
" finally convinces him of the fact that he cannot drink alcohol, period"
Too sad!
