Bands named after places. Please help.
A friend and I are trying to come up with a list of bands that we know of that are named after actual places. This is what we have so far:
Alterbridge Jimmy's Chicken Shack Everything But The Girl (a wedding supply/planner store) Marcy Playground Linkin Park Big Dismal Jericho Road Who else do you know of? PLEASE HELP! H-D :dead: |
Just to add my 2 cents:
Boston America Asia Europe (yes all real groups, just not from this century :) ) |
Chicago
Alabama |
Texas
Kansas |
Baton Rouge  anybody remembear those guys
|
The 3 I thought of off the top of my head (Chicago, Boston, and Kansas) were already taken. So I went through my Media Player playlist and came up with these:
Styx (after the River Styx of Greek mythology) Berlin 3 Doors Down (okay, not a specific place, but if you live on a street w/ 5 houses on a side or more, there's someone likely living 3 doors down) and 2 other generic places: The Outfield (a baseball dealy-whopper) Oasis (lush place in desert) |
"3 Doors Down (okay, not a specific place, but if you live on a street w/ 5 houses on a side or more, there's someone likely living 3 doors down)"
LOL!...good one. |
Thanks for the help thus far. Do you know of any that aren't either cities or states? lol.
H-D  |
oh, that reminds me, I think there used to be a band (not huge, and i'm not sure when) named Missouri
|
So we have:
1. Alterbridge 2. Jimmy's Chicken Shack 3. Everything But The Girl 4. Marcy Playground 5. Linkin Park 6. Big Dismal 7. Jericho Road 8. Sleater-Kinney 9. Boston 10. America 11. Europe 12. Asia 13. Chicago 14. Alabama 15. Texas 16. Kansas 17. Missouri 18. Baton Rouge 19. The Outfield 20. Oasis 21. O-Town And maybe 3 Doors Down. LOL. Anything else? H-D :listen: |

just a comment on 3 Doors Down...is most likley from an old country show with the opening video shot showing a place called 3 doors down...or something on that line.........

well, there we go! it is a real place, not just any random place!
nice list, WW... would've mentioned Mannheim Steamroller, but I didn't think it was a place (other than the city of Mannheim, Germany) |
