Best Singles of 2004

we have one for the worst, let's make one for the best... but narrow it down to the singles otherwise we'll have a bunch of track listings here.

But the trophy goes to (and rightfully so):

DekWannaBFlea 01-07-2005 01:37 AM

Lets just say "Slither" , "Open your eyes" and "Fall to Pieces" this year blew when it came to music.

Higher_Desire 01-07-2005 01:48 AM

In no particular order...

Velvet Revolver -- Fall to Pieces
Alter Bridge -- Open Your Eyes
Scott Stapp -- Relearn Love
Papa Roach -- Getting Away With Murder
Green Day -- Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Josh Groban -- Believe
Simple Plan -- Welcome To My Life
Yellowcard -- Ocean Avenue
Sugarcult -- Memory
Eminem -- Like Toy Soldiers
Andrew W.K. -- Party Hard
Zebrahead -- Playmate of the Year
Switchfoot -- Dare You To Move

I'll probably think of a few more later.

H-D :pimp:

aussiecreeder 01-07-2005 04:06 AM

I should also add Green Day's American Idiot and Interpol's Slow Hands.

Alter Bridge - Open Your Eyes
Velvet Revolver - Slither
Velvet Revolver - Fall To Pieces
Switchfoot - We Were Meant
Megadeth - Die Dead Enough
Motley Crue - If I Die Tomorrow

aussiecreeder 01-07-2005 06:31 PM

ah yes i should have added megadeath (great band) although switchfoot to me are a 2nd or 3rd rate creed to be honest.

Xterminator27 01-07-2005 07:09 PM

I cant stand Fall to peices.
Its like 4 words and the same guitar riff OVER AND OVER AND OVER again for the entire song

Id say Alterbridge was the only GOOD song this year, it was pritty shitty music wise, there were some good ones but I forget what they were

Unforgiven Fan 01-07-2005 10:07 PM

let me add:

Run - Snow Patrol
Mice and Men - Megadeth

OH. MY. GOD.
I cannot believe this is coming out of my mouth (ok, fingers) but I agree with you 100% X. I really can't stand that song for more than a minute. Wow, somebody get me a drink.

Ok, and since you all know that I'm older than most of you, and an 80's girl at heart, my number one pick for best single of 2004 is:

1985 - Bowling for Soup

Sorry, I just love that song. It's like my anthem!! (except I wasn't that into White Snake so I'd have to settle for shaking my a$$ on the hood of Sting's car.) :D

Dogstar 01-07-2005 11:34 PM

LMAO, Teri!

aussiecreeder 01-08-2005 04:19 AM

bowling for soup? please teri tell me that is a joke! :p i can't stand that song albiet it is a novelty song. run from snow patrol and everybody's changing from keane should also be added. apart from a return to guitar rock this year, 2004 marked the year indie rock hit the mainstream.
