My last post...I'm just to angry

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on the board who made me feel welcome especially Teri...I've been a loyal die hard Creed fan for four years but I'm hanging all that up. I just can't except what went on in Chicago on 12/29 and I can't except that poor excuse for a statement that Creed e-mailed all the Chicago fans who wrote to them. You can say all you want about me...stuff like I'm not a true Creed fan and all that, but if you weren't at that concert...you truly could never understand how it felt to be slapped in the face by your idol. Yes folks, I have seen the real Creed and I never want to see them again. Their fans obviously mean shit to them and they've proved that...at least to me. Now I have to deal with all the money I've spent on their c.d.s and merchandise...maybe you can all find them real cheap on E-bay when I sell all this stuff. Anyway for those of you who hold Creed dear to your heart, I understand how that felt. I'm not here to bash the band...just wanted to state my peace and head on out...again thanks to everyone for the wonderful chat...Rock on Creed fans. Let's hope you get some great concerts in the future from the band who truly ruined mine. I had the worst night of my life on Sunday Dec. 29th, 2002. What a way to ring in the New Year.

sad subject

im sorry you feel the way you feel about this incident..i want also to say that im sure creed doesnt want to lose you as a fan either..one thing i will remind you of ...its the music thats suppossed to make you feel good. do you really think scott wants you to idolize him.. probably not...i would say that he would suggest maybe your parents or a close friend should fit that bill. i think that after you think about this issue for a while cooler minds will prevail...i personall think music that i love to listen to is a huge plus in my life. to see them in person is another...shit happens...albeit sad and unfortunate and im sure with no malace..its done and over...go back to listening to the music that makes you feel good. ok just my thoughts...

Dogstar 01-08-2003 07:52 PM

Well said, whocares.

creedgirl99 01-08-2003 07:58 PM

I'm sorry for you Karen. I was also at that concert. We drove 11 hours to get there, then waited in line for 2 and a half hours because I wanted to be at the rail. I was disappointed and saddened by what transpired that "infamous" night. I just kept thinking to myself that it wasn't real. It was most definitely a different show than my first Creed experience on 9/22. Despite all this, I still love Creed just as much. The reason I became interested in them in the first place was their music, and that has not changed. There is no other band out there like them. They will always remain my favorite band. Thanks for reading.....

Bridge of Clay 01-08-2003 08:25 PM

hey... are you really selling all your Creed merchandise? perhaps you should reconsider it

PaulMcCoygirl 01-08-2003 08:36 PM

Karen, don't sell all your Creed stuff yet. You have to understand that Scott was going through a lot during that time. I know you are going to say that it was no excuse for him to act like that, which he shouldn't of but there is nothing you can do about it. Don't blame the entire band though, I'm sure they were very embarassed about the entire incident. Please reconsider about not being a Creed fan anymore. That's just my opinion. We will miss you! :(

Fine, do whutever u want, its your loss.

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:11 PM

karen, i agree with you to a certain degree. I too was pissed that my first concert ever was blemished like that but hey, i'll live. Im not going to stop listening to my creed CDs because he was drunk, i like their music so i listen to it no problem there. I might think twice though about going to another concert. If i do go, i'm not going to spend $70 on their merchandise. I bought some Creed shirts and some patches at the concert and now im kind of embarrassed to wear them. I get alot of crap from my freinds for listening to Creed and if i wear those shirts all i hear is "I told you so". That night sure was memerable though, and i did have fun. Local H was awesome, i was the only one where i was at that was liking their music. I should have bought the local H CD instead of all the other crap.

Debs4Creed 01-08-2003 09:19 PM

well I am sorry that you put so much of your life into a band that one lousy concert adn you are swearing them off that is pretty pathetic if you ask me ;)

musicsaves 01-08-2003 09:22 PM

when did scott stapp stop being a rock star and start being expected to be Jesus?

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:23 PM

December 28 he was officially announced as Jesus.

Xterminator27 01-08-2003 09:24 PM

Ummmmm WAHT????

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:25 PM

yup, it happened.

Xterminator27 01-08-2003 09:26 PM

Uhh no it didnt

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:28 PM

it didnt? crap! someone lied to me.

musicsaves 01-08-2003 09:28 PM

...actually I think Jesus was cut more slack.

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:30 PM

i dont think he really is Jesus now. I remember he looked a little chubby at the concert. Jesus was ripped.

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:34 PM

Xterminator27 01-08-2003 09:35 PM

Uhh jimmy i dont get ur signature.....

musicsaves 01-08-2003 09:36 PM

maybe it's his religious background or his once jesus-like hair that made some became confused, but somehow I don't feel my savior fallen, each time stapp takes a drink...

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:36 PM

sorry

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:38 PM

its actually a "deep thoughts with Jack Handey" from Saturday Night Live. I dont know if you know what im talking about but, thats what it is.

And that's the attitude everyone should have. When he actually WALKS on the water, I'll start looking at him differently. But he didn't have the power to feed an entire arena of fans with a few loaves of bread and a few fish. Now THAT would be Messiah-like!

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:41 PM

you think Stapp hasnt walked on water? how can you be so sure?

TeriB19 01-08-2003 09:42 PM

Because the media would've splashed it all over the tv, radio and papers. With a negative spin, of course.

He doesn't have that power? wait...i must rethink my whole life...
..now tremonti on the otherhand may.....j/k

TeriB19 01-08-2003 09:44 PM

Tremonti fed us some powerful riffs in Philly. I wasn't hungry after I left that show, I can tell you that!!

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:45 PM

how do you quote people? man, i suck at this message board stuff.

Amen

jimmy2sacs 01-08-2003 09:47 PM

Thats wierd Teri, i felt unusually hungry after the Chicago show.

TeriB19 01-08-2003 09:49 PM

Munchies, Jimmy, munchies.

JenRN 01-08-2003 09:52 PM

Well If you feel it nessesary to not "like" Creed anymore so be it, that is your decision! But who in this world is perfect? I can't imagine the feeling of dissapointment of thousands of people in me, it must be hard for Stapp, REALLY! All I know is the band needs a break, they need time to recooperate from a hellacious year, if you can't let go of this bad experience than it really is your loss. It is not written in stone you will always have a GREAT experiences in life, you take what life throws you and make the best of it. I know that I have certain expectations of things in life, BUT I get let down a lot and I just pick up my head and MOVE ON! I guess as you experience more let downs you will learn how to deal with them easier.

rodirocker 01-08-2003 09:54 PM

No, he should not become Jesus, but he should at least humble himself, admit that he made a BIG mistake, and go ahead and change.

I was at the concert and there is no way I would be able to pull myself away from being a Creed fan. No way in the WORLD. Being a fan of Stapp, well that is another story. I don't really like him. Mark Tremonti is my hero though. Would I go to more concerts? Yes... but I am very hesitant too after what just happened. I don't think this is going to happen again. Creed is still a bunch of incredible musicians, Stapp still rocks musically, he just has problems.

What exactly is his big mistake? Not handling all the problems in his life the way people think he should? Not performing like a robot or the fan's puppet?
What is it exactly everyone is so upset about? because he left the stage wasted concert time? because people could see his socks? I'd like to know exactly what his sin is.

imagine if we held everybody in our life up to the standards we set for scott stapp.

That is one of the smartest things I've read that's been written so horribly often on this tired tired subject.

By the way, could you imagine the uprising that would be going on if he had HOLES in his socks? The HOLY jokes would NEVER end.
