CHICAGO: Bottom Line to Scott

Here's the bottom line from a real (and realistic) Creed fan:

1) Scott screwed up MAJORLY. Drunkenly stumbing around the stage of a show that earned them hundreds of thousands of dollars is an undertaking in unspeakably bad taste.

2) Scott's actions on stage and his lack of apology (so far) is a huge slap in the face to all Creed fans. This sort of disrespect should not be tolerated by anyone -- much less Creed loyalists.

3) Scott may be having hard personal times, but that doesn't justify his actions. Chicago concertgoers should not have to pay great deals of money to see Stapp be overcome with his personal struggles -- and then not hear ANY kind of apology.

Scott:
Show a little bit of class and issue an appology. Issue refunds/free concert to Chicago fans to be completely ethical. If fans are so important to Creed, this one should have been a no-brainer.

This issue is still not resolved and should not be swept under the carpet. Creed fans take a lot of abuse from the general public, and we expect more from the lead singer of this band. Show that you value us -- show us respect, or you will slowly see the evaporation of the dedicated following you currently enjoy.

I have to say I think you have alot of nerve judgeing Scott like this. The last time I checked, none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. He is going through a tough time in his life and I think you should leave him alone. Everyone takes care of their problems in a different way. So if he had a bit too much to drink that is his business and the only ones he has to answer to are himself and God. He is a good man and when people slip up that doesn't mean anything. We are supose to accept eachother the way we are and not judge. Unless you personally know what is going on. I am not pretending I do but all I am saying is Back Off Him.

There seems to be two sides to the issue here:

(1) Some of us think that Scott is only human and made a mistake that we can forgive him for. We know he is having problems lately and realise that sometimes all those pressures can get on top of him.

(2) Some fans think that no matter what Scott is dealing with, he should never have allowed the show to go on like that. They say that there is no excuse for his behaviour.

Neither side is wrong. They are both just opinions. I don't want us to start bashing each other over which way some of us feel.

If we are to give Creed the support they need and deserve, we all need to be UNITED in our support. I think the words of my signature say it all.

They are the worst band in the world

I can't believe they are popular

They are atrocious.

He had a lot of nerve going on stage in front of thousands of people (who paid nearly a million dollars combined) completely drunk. There's no judgement there. He did it.

I don't disagree with you at all. And he made a huge (some would say historically bad) mistake. This is his job, and people paid a lot of money to see the band perform. If he goes on stage drunk, he shows a complete lack of respect for his fans, and should at LEAST apologize.

Not when he's performing to PAYING fans. This is a big deal.

I'm not judging him, hello! You can't disrepect someone and then not have someone call you on it. I'm pointing out a fact -- if you found his behaviour acceptable, then something is wrong.

If he would have appologized, I wouldn't be writing this post. But the point is, he hasn't, and everyone is acting as if it's ok. It's NOT okay!

Why is this so difficult to understand?

btw, someone ban Siren.

Creed is an incredible band, but this situation needs to be rectified by Scott.

Thanks.

I'm 23 and an Electrical Engineering/Quantum Physics graduate student.

And yes, I think Creed is a great band. Many people agree. Some don't.

People don't want to ban you because you don't like Creed, they just know what your intentions are. Who do you think you're fooling?

I think one of the reasons some people don't like Creed is that they only hear their radio singles.

They don't represent the totality of Creed's music in ANY sense of the word. I think most Creed fans agree this to be the case. There is much more depth the Creed than meets the radio ear.

creedfan47a 01-03-2003 02:15 AM

Absolutely. The radio singles don't really do them justice.

hayley 01-03-2003 02:19 AM

Yeah that and the fact that noone will give them a chance

creedfan47a 01-03-2003 02:22 AM

The only people that matter are us - the ones that support them! Just listen to Bullets and What If and you will see that they know the bashers are just jealous and uninformed.
