Ok, so Mark ripped it off from himself...

The intro/melody for that song can be found on YouTube where Mark is running through some of his techniques for a guitar mag video. I would always come across it while browsing, but of course can't find it on purpose now. It's at least a few years old since it was recorded while AB was out supporting One Day Remains.

I think he also uses it on his DVD in the fingerstyle section and possibly the intro. I'm out of town now so I can't check on that one.

I know it's not unusual for someone to write a piece of music and have it sit around for years before they really use it, just found it odd to hear this on an album release after it's already been "published" a couple times over the past few years. Usually goes the other way around.

I think it's good that he finally found a song to put it in.
It's his material. He can do what he wants with it.

"Fear" is one of the top 5 best songs on the album for me... I think the only weaker tracks are "Suddenly" & "Good Fight" both have which grown on me a lot, the album holds up well... it's great from start to finish.

speaking of "Away In Silence" did anyone notice in the lyrics written in the album book. One part kind of confused me since it wasn't sung in the song but was written in the book. The one I'm talking about is

"...Habebti tru-heEsh zah-lan-eh!"

Does this mean anything to anyone or is this a typo when they were making the album book?

I am glad then that you have a DVD copy of the guitar part to a song that was unwritten at the time. Scott finished the song with personal lyrics about a time in his life. Personally, I think it's incredible that these two songwriters and musicians can come back again to collaborate and make great music! It's not a ripoff if it's Tremonti's idea... I'm glad he found a song to put it to use!
