Stapp in NY Daily News: " ..Stapp is hellish"

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/sto...p-315063c.html

Maybe rocker Scott Stapp - former front man for the very pious Christian rock band Creed - was possessed by Satan when he showed up for a taping of the Spike TV show "Casino Cinema" on Tuesday afternoon.
According to multiple sources on the set, the 32-year-old Stapp appeared intoxicated when he arrived at the show's upper East Side studio and proceeded to terrorize hosts Beth Ostrosky and Steve Schirripa, the producers and the crew members alike with his boorish and vulgar antics on- and off-camera.

Stapp - who just released his first solo album, "The Great Divide" - was there as a guest co-host on the weekly program, which plays a movie with intermittent breaks of studio chatter and interactive casino games.

"From the moment he walked into the studio, he was rude, belligerent and drunk," reports a Lowdown spy. "With Beth, he was nothing but extremely mean, sexist and an all-around jerk."

Another source says that even with his publicist in tow, Stapp cursed "every other word," called a female executive producer a "b-," constantly flipped the bird, and referred to Ostrosky - better known as Howard Stern's longtime girlfriend - as a "bimbo."

Stapp also couldn't resist taking swipes at his more famous rock colleagues. "I met [U2's] Bono and The Edge, and Bono was an a- to me," he declared, before insulting Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl's manhood as "freaking little."

When a crew member accidently bumped into him on the set and quickly said he was sorry, Stapp snapped, "Yeah, you better f-ing be."

Says one spy, "Beth and Steve were total professionals about it, and did everything to make sure the show got taped."

Reps for Stapp and Ostrosky did not respond to detailed messages yesterday, but viewers can see Stapp's bad behavior for themselves - with appropriate bleeps, of course - when the show airs Dec. 6.

If everything they say is true, wow, it's just so disappointing.

Titan??? are you here? :lol

SummerGirl 12-01-2005 12:23 PM

Thank you Alicia for sharing this article. Poor Stapp...he just doesn't learn.

titan9 12-01-2005 12:35 PM

Yes, I'm here Marcos. :D I've heard that this column in the NY Daily News is gossip, so this story could be false. I'm taking it with a grain of salt until I actually see the show that they are speaking of. If he looks smashed on that, I'll believe the story.

To rephrase what I said earlier in that other thread: "if everything they say is true, wow, Stapp has a drinking problem and needs to get help for it. Not for the sake of his music, but for the sake of his son. This can't be good for little Jagger."

Bridge of Clay 12-01-2005 01:27 PM

seriously, it's true. Alicia can tell us where she found that... I just logged out from abb.net and I'm that lazy to go back and search for the source. But it popped up before the NY Daily column.

titan9 12-01-2005 02:11 PM

Well, like I said, I'm just going to wait until they air that show. It may or may not be true, and that's why I am waiting to see it for myself.

lol the Foo Fighters have dissed Stapp since 2000 and I've heard that Bono is a dick. Stapp makes a better bad ass, tortured Christian as opposed to a pacifist. He's coming out swinging these days... and I honestly don't care. The guy is the butt of all jokes... he has nothing to lose.

RMadd 12-01-2005 02:21 PM

har, that's kind of funny... one self-righteous singer making fun of another (Bono)

but, all kidding aside, it looks like Stapp was merely trying to put on his good, reborn Christian face a few months to a year ago merely for some good publicity. now he appears to be hopelessly out of control. who knows? in 10 or 20 years, there'll prolly be some show on MTV or VH1 or E! True Hollywood Stories about how Stapp's career went down the crapper with his public image.... hopefully he can save himself (or, perhaps, someone else can save him) before he commits suicide in the figurative sense....

Chase 12-01-2005 02:28 PM

Bono... the self enthroned holy enlightened leader of the United Nations.... lol :D

titan9 12-01-2005 02:31 PM

LOL! That is pretty funny about Bono....wait, isn't Stapp a big U2 fan?

In all seriousness, it sounds to me like Stapp's a nice guy when he's sober(based on the accounts of some fans who have met him), but a really mean guy when he's drunk. Me thinks he has a drinking problem that he should take care of?

RockGoddess 12-01-2005 03:35 PM

Howard Stern confirmed the incident this morning on the air.

Interesting. But I'm still reserving judgment until I see the thing aired. I want to see just how "smashed" he was.

they have no right at all. They have tried to steal creed's sound and are still trying. listen to them from learn to fly to today "exaxctly"
look at what equipment they use and what creed used exactly the same amp set up and they even used a prs when recording. also dave grohl uses the mic scott has used for years.

so I think the dave grohl deserves all the comments (if any were actually said)

^^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the Foo Fighters been around longer than Creed?
