LA Show on 10/20

Has anyone heard who is opening for the show in LA on 10/20? Is there any word on how Scott is doing? Any chance the LA show will be cancelled or postponed again? As much as I want to see them, I'd rather him get completely well than try to do too much too soon and risk further injury. And hopefully if they do decide to cancel or postpone, they'll give us a little more notice this time.

marlsy 10-18-2002 10:57 AM

On Creed.com it shows sevendust as playing with them and thats it. I pray they dont cancel also. Although I agree with you I dont want to see him being careful not to strain his voice and not get a good show. I would rather they postpone again to let his voice heal all the way. They better cancel at the latest Saturday or I will not be happy, for I live an hour and a half away! I was not a happy camper when we pulled up last time and they said sorry, the singer has a sore throat! But it turned out ok, we went out anyway and had a good time but I would of rather seen Creed of course!!

wxman1969 10-18-2002 11:26 AM

I thought it was going to be Sevendust too, but a notice dated 10/17 on CreedPit.com says that Sevendust is no longer on the tour. I was in the same boat as you on 10/8. We didn't know until we arrived at Staples that the show was not on. We too had to drive about 90 minutes, but fortunately we hadn't parked yet. Although I heard other people drove a lot longer than we did. I agree that they need to make a decision sooner. If he wakes up Sunday morning and his throat is not doing well, he needs to cancel right then and there.

Pollstar just now updated the info on the Creed show in LA to indicate 12 Stones is now the opening act.

marlsy 10-18-2002 02:40 PM

Well I hope it is 12 stones instead of sevendust, I'm not to crazy about them anyway. 12 stones music sounds pretty good. But , hey, who cares, we want CREED! Lets keep our fingers crossed!!!!!!!:bounce:

If you haven't seen 12 stones peform yet, prepare yourself for an awesome opening act! Paul and his boys are remarkable on stage, very animated and worth the time to listen to especially Crash and Broken!

I have seen them 3 times and they are great!

On a side note, did Mad At Gravity ever end up opening for Creed? I remember reading that they would awhile back (I bought the CD when I heard about it; some good stuff on there) but I don't remember hearing anything else.

souldancer 10-21-2002 02:13 PM

I heard that Scott's voice was "strong"!!!

Probably not. Mad At Gravity have been showing up on Jerry Cantrell's tour. What's their music like, Read? Don't know much about them and they might be opening for Jerry on Nov. 9 (A show I'm going to). The Cantrell message board has had mixed review on them.

SD, Ohhhhh, I hope that's true about Scott's voice. I hope he is back as strong as ever!

Scott was AWSOME!! He looked and sounded awsome!!! The concert was worth the wait!! I cant wait already for next yrs tour, he told us he was sorry for the delays and thanks for being great fans and next tour he is going to start out on the west coast!!! He looked so damn sexy in brown leather pants and a white long sleeve shirt, I wanted to eat him up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

allison 10-21-2002 03:35 PM

Yes, I understand that feeling, Marlsy. Yay! That's GREAT news!

wxman1969 10-21-2002 04:03 PM

The LA show was quite good, though as I have read in some other posts, the crowd was small. I'm sure there were many people who got refunds after the 10/8 postponement. Plus the World Series was on (Staples had the game on many TV's in the halls and there were many people crowded around them in between acts). The floor was barely half full and there were thousands of empty seats in the stands. That place holds about 20000 and I'd estimate the crowd at closer to 10K (if that).

The opening acts in my opinion were really bad. They just sounded like a lot of loud noise. Maybe it was the acoustics, but Creed sounded much better. Whoever said Color Green and Cinder were opening was correct (where did you see that?) Everything I found said either Sevendust or 12 Stones. From what I've heard, 12 Stones would have been much better than what was there.

Anyway, Creed played a great show and the set design was really cool. Lots of fireworks and stuff. I feel sorry for all those that had to put together the set only to have to take it down when shows were cancelled at the last minute. The show was about 1 hour 45 minutes, including about 4 songs in the encore. Scott was VERY appreciative of the fans that were there and he really genuinely seemed to mean it. His voice was strong, but I think he may have been holding back just a little bit. Not surprising given this is his first show since being ill. At least he has a couple days to rest now before the next one.

souldancer 10-21-2002 04:12 PM

marlys and wxman..THANKS for the informative posts! Appreciate that - and yeah, looking at that schedule ahead, I hope that Scott rests well in between. I bet you will be flying on a Creed high for awhile! That's so cool - thanks again for sharing with us!:)

Well, Mad At Gravity are basically your typical non-nu metal modern rock band, but they fit into the mold of music I like and I dig a few of their songs for sure. Resonance, their album, is one of those CDs where you'll probably like one or two songs at first, but the rest will grow on you a lot after a few listens. It's a solid album overall. If you're looking for downloads, my favorites would be the following:

1. Historypeats (my favorite track by far)
2. Walk Away (the single, a pretty kickass song)
3. Time and Time Again
4. In Vain

Dogstar 10-23-2002 02:21 AM

Thanks, Read. I'll give 'em a listen.

Aimee 10-23-2002 01:59 PM

Wheeeeee!

Creed is back in action!
Anyone feel like bouncing?
:bounce:

TeriB19 10-23-2002 10:29 PM
