Bah... you can't eat cow meat because of mad cow...
you can't eat chicken because it gets pumped with stuff
you can't eat pig because it's disgusting...
and you can't eat fruits and vegetables due all the agrotoxics they spill on them to kill verms...

so, what are you gonna eat???????

I don't eat pig... because it's not good meat (taste and health).

But I'm stopping eating cow meat... not because I want, I just had enough of it, you know? But I still love burgers!!! they are the best!

And I really love chicken! Anything on the menu with chicken is fine by me! :P

They call it mad cow because cows get it from humans feeding cow back to cows. So the cows are "mad" It actually had a diff. name, it actually came from sheep.

Well, i'm getting better, my daughter had a hamburger last night and I didn't freak out. She was kinda trippin on it though, but she ate it.

JenRN 01-27-2004 10:42 AM

I look at it this way. If you got too upset over what is in everything you eat you would not eat anything at all! I try to stay away from things I know are really bad and are all the time, like the artificial sweetners etc... I don't eat beef all the time but do like it here and there. I just made a big pot of meatballs and sauce yesterday, tasted damn good. And I did not think of Mad cow at all. :D

Yeah your right Jen, i'm trying to get over my mad cow scare!!! It is freaky but I have to realize the chances of actually getting it are like winning the lottery!!! So I have to :chillpill

You just have to know, I am not one who thinks this can't happen to me.... I was kidnapped as a teen and my oldest daughter was hospitalized for salmonila when she was 6 that she got from an iguana. So I know that things CAN really happen! So I am a little freaky about things like that.

I hope you're kidding.

Mad cow disease is caused by bacteria that eats away at the brain stem, brains, and spinal cord of cattle. The way that the cattle can get this bacteria is by eating the affect areas of the infected cattle. Sometimes parts from the slaughtered cattle wind up in thier feed by accident or sometimes the farmers are so broke they have no choice but to feed the animal parts to thier livestock. The only way that humans can actually be affected by this is by eating the brains, brian stem, and spinal cord.

Exactly. That's why the fuss over humans contracting mad cow by eating burgers and other common forms of beef is, well, bullshit.

Ok, then why did 80 people die from it in Britian? You can't always believe what the government and the meat industry tell you. They don't eat brains, or spinal cords there either. In hamburger meat you never know what the hell they throw in there either.

Mulletman 01-27-2004 01:56 PM

How did SARS run rampid in Toronto? How did influenza strike the US hard and kill more people during WWI than any country's military? It wasn't X fault? When he fucks farm animal he uses protection! A lot of these diseases originate in Asia or other areas in which there are little, if ANY, health code or food regulations. Were these 80 people in huge metropolitan cities or were thy small rural dwellers that depended heavily on local farming/ranching?
