"I believe in a thing called love" By The Darkness
Anyone heard this? It is a catchy little song isn't it? I have heard it a million times the past few days and then today I saw the video, it's pretty weird, but has kind of a 80's retro kind of thing going. The hair definitly makes you remember the 80's.........and those clothes. I think it's a pretty good song.
Here is a link to watch the video if you haven't seen it. http://www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?b=multimedia&id=13062 |
LOL, I have read a lot about them, but I haven't heard the music yet. They are doing cheesy 80s on purpose. They are hella funny in interviews.
|
Interesting, I haven't heard much about them. I guess I need to pay more attention to what is being said. I may buy the album because it's so catchy.
|
I'm "familiar" with them already for a year now... The concept is pretty nice but I hate that voice! :yikes:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!! Can someone safe me from The Darkness!!!! :scared: :scared: :scared: |
LOL. He has a different voice for sure. I had never even heard of them until a few days ago. I guess I have been under a rock. :)
|
his voice makes my ears bleed
the next time i hear that song this might happen :killtard: |
Well I guess I've heard of them earlier because they're an English Rockband and I'm from the Netherlands... there's only a Northsea that divides us from England :) A 4 hour boattrip...
So you don't have to be ashamed of not knowing of them earlier :D |
I don't feel too bad about not knowing them then.
Dan, you crack me up. You really feel that strongly about his voice? ;) |
I love The Darkness!!!!! Yes, the lead singer's falcetto can be a bit unnerving at times... but the rhythm section (everything else) is so fucking amazing!!!!!! Reminds me of the '80s! Well, other than that I can't remember listening to much GNR, Van Halen, etc. when I was 5.... "Bareback" (a track not found on "Permission to Land", but I think on the "Growing on Me" EP) is a great piece of instrumental rock. Speaking of which, "Growing on Me" has been called "the world's happiest song about genital warts"!
|
I believe in a thing called love.....
|
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart!
|
I really hate that song. It's so stoopid. After I heard it the last time it was stuck in my head for about 2 days. I guess it's better than that stoopid Hilary Duff song I had stuck in my head today.
H-D  |
I laugh my ass off every time I hear this song and see the video. He hits some MAJOR high notes!!! That must be some wedgie he has! :wtf:
|
I HATE THEM!!!!
Even if they have some pretty nice guitars in some of their songs... THE MUSIC IS STILL SUCKASS!!! |
it crappy commerical music...I heard the whole album and it crappy commercial music...but that is my opinon........
|
i think they were stoned when they did that video
|
actually, the album's pretty good... and they're not exactly corporate sellouts like a shitload of other bands today...
|
I think the video's gross, and his voice sucks in my opinion. After I saw the video, I wished I hadn't.
|
lol.... check out this album cover (the EP, "Growing on Me")

Didn't they say they were serious about their music? |

Their leadsinger is really flamboyant, but he has great range. |

Their single is still cool, but I still don't take them seriously as artists. |
Oh man!! I just read this on a Dutch rocknews-site. It has been 30 years ago that QUEEN had their first number one hit. They plan to celebrate this with a huge concert... but who should "replace" Freddie Mercury for that event???
Well... ahum... Brian May revealed a few days ago that it's gonna be: Justin Hawkins... yes that almighty singer from the Darkness. :pukey: They will start first with a benefit-concert in the UK on the 11th of May... where Justin will sing too! How's that gonna sound??? Can you imagine??? |
wicked hardcore! up-and-coming pseudo-queer to fill shoes of immortal queer!
