"Howard Says Scott Stapp Is An Asswipe. 12/01/05. 10:15am

During the news Robin brought up a story about Scott Stapp, formerly from the band Creed, who was apparently inebriated when he appeared on Spike TV's Casino Cinema show which Howard's girlfriend hosts. Howard said he heard the story from Beth who told him that Scott ended up cursing out Beth saying that ''bimbos like her'' don't go for him and stuff like that. Beth told Howard that she had the worst day at work because of that. Howard got kind of pissed because the people she works for didn't do anything about it. No one said a word to the guy because, as Howard said, ''they're all maggots.''
Gary said he heard that Scott was telling Beth that the only reason she's with someone like Howard is because he's got money. Gary had been in contact with Scott a couple of weeks ago and thought that he was a fan of the show. It turns out he's just a jerk and he was a ''jack off'' to Beth. Beth is fine with it all and asked him not to bother trying to take care of things his way. If Beth didn't ask him to hold off on that, this would be a whole different story.

Gary also told the guys that Scott wanted to come on the show to kick Dave Grohl's ass because Dave once goofed on him. The two of them apparently hate each other. Howard said he heard that Scott was running his hand up Beth's back while he was doing her show and it turns out he's just an asswipe and that's the end of it.

Ralph called in a short time later and said he saw Beth coming home yesterday and she looked really upset by what went on with Scott Stapp. Howard said she asked him not to get all worked up about it so he's going to leave it at that. Robin finished up her news after that. Bob told Howard a few more stories and remembered the first time he appeared on the show. Back then he told a story about his 11 year old son who wanted to meet Dolly Parton before he died so they contacted the Make-A-Wish foundation to try and make that happen. It never did. Bob said he usually doesn't mention his son when he talks about his kids because people get kind of bummed out when he tells them that he's passed away.

Bob tried to tell another story about his 14 year old daughter going to a rainbow party but the delay was hit and Howard wanted to talk to his girlfriend about the Scott Stapp thing. He wanted to apologize to her for saying that he called the staff maggots because she asked him not to. Howard said he's sorry he did that and said that she loves the staff over there. Howard told Beth that maggots are very important to the eco-system though. Beth said she was very mad at him for doing that and she didn't want him to bad mouth anyone over there. Howard said it was killing him to not say anything".


I can't wait to see him on the show :D

Its pretty funny that ole Howard got so upset, considering the way he treats female guests on his own show. This is a guy who gets off on making fun of retarded people, the handicapped, wants every female guest to show him her rack. I read somewhere that someone asked why is this guy still in the media. The answer was.....he caters to the lowest common denominator....18-25 year old males.

Howard was being nice. If he wanted to completely ruin any credibility Sapp has left he could have done that. He didn't want to give him the publicity

I dont want to defend howard, he may not be so nice (thats all what his show is about) but hes honest. Also I think howard is one of the people in this world that is ontop of his game and is really made to do what hes doing, I dont support what he does but hes one in a kind and very successfull at it.

Like Howard has any credibility. Besides, it's a litte late to not give Stapp the publicity imo. His g/f too. They should have thought about that several days ago.


What's so honest about making fun of the physically handicapped for christ sakes. Stern is disgusting.

Oh how I wish Stern was already on Sirius radio, so only 1/4 of the world would have to hear him, and they pay to do it! Don't care for the man much, can you tell? :mad1:

i agree he is but as i hate to admit it and 95 percent of majortiy wont admit it, we,ve all made fun of the handicapped at least once in our lifes, so its best not to judge even though he is an alien knowing and judgeing is two horses of a different color and evening knowing we can judge we know but look we for the beauty in something disgusting :) there is an ugly duckling in every beautiful swan :)

howard doesnt just make fun of the physically/mentally challenged people, hes making fun of himself all the time too and everyone else, thats what the show is mostly about.

Yea its sad but people find him ammusing, I believe his recent deal with sirius was closed at $500 million for 5 years.

This show is hilarious. At least he is acting "real." He usually picks each word he says really carefully. This time, it's all hanging out. Kung fuing the camera and saying babies come form his sack...hahahaha

Funny as hell! Scott, what the hell! LOL. Loved every moment!

Good Lord...Scott is SO wasted. Someone is going to have a BAD hangover...

Holy shit... this is the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is soooooooooooooooooo wasted. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA He's having so much trouble putting words together. Stern's girlfriend is like "So, did you write most of the songs for Creed, Scott?" and he's like "Yeah, yeah I did. That's why I make more money than Howard." It makes me think of how my friends and I will talk to one of our drunk friends while we're sober. The guy next to him (Steve Schirripa) asked him what kind of music he listens to and Scott is like "Led Zeppelin! and AC/DC" and was cussing up a storm. Stapp is totally pulling a Liam Gallagher... and it's hilarious.

Steve Schirripa totally was egging him on to say stuff about Creed and Dave Grohl (who Schirripa said was from the Goo Goo Dolls). This makes me want to party with Scott.

Funny, funny, funny!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO at the "lawd gawds" preacher impersonation" too. OMG, the guy is having a great time, and is just a blast!!! Oh, and he finished his statement about Bono, ummm, yea actually got to HEAR for myself what he had to say, not what someone else, heard someone else said he said. lol.

This was some good watching, and there wasn't one thing that he did that I found offensive, nor was he being a jerk. If Beth O needs the definiton, all she has to do is wake up next to Howard, and she's got her answer.

I think a lot what people on the show were shocked at happened off camera, from the stories I've read about it.

yeah, she put on the smiley face really well, but, at times, you could tell that she was uncomfortable, as Stapp was all over her at every opportunity, flirting incessantly, and, when she tried to bring up his girlfriend, he just deflected with a "yeah" and immediately started talking to the guy next to him...the onscreen stuff is completely coterminous with the story that we've heard prior to the airing...and, was he rude, I don't know, I guess it depends on how you interpret him telling her "you are so FUCKED!"...was that REALLY about the cards? Unfortunately for HIM, it certainly was...LOL...

Yeah... I mean... I thought he acted like a guy who had a few drinks in his system and was just goofing off. If Stapp's actions offended her... then I have no idea how she puts up with Howard Stern.

well, I think the actions that really offended her were OFFscreen, as he was ostensibly getting a little too touchy-feely (which you could see some of on-screen)...Howard getting touchy with her probably isn't a problem...

What about when Howard gets touchy feely with every female guest has brings onto his show?

Still, I think it's unproffessionall of Stapp to show up drunk on national TV.

I watched this with my hubbie, and our comment was:
Well, he just validated Chicago.
I'm so disappointed in him.
The swearing, the hosts were playing his cards for him, telling him to pick up his chips and cards.
I'm kinda shocked they played this segment because it makes them look bad too. And whoever said the host was egging him on, totally! He was trying to get him in deep water!
Asking about his girlfriend, I think that was because he kept flirting with what's her name. And Scott completely blew that question off. I would his girlfriend wasn't too happy about that. BTW, where was his girlfriend and son on Thanksgiving? Was he alone in a hotel? (I doubt that!)
And what's this about the Goo Goo Dolls' guy's small dick? WTF was that?
I'm so embarrassed for him. Have another one Scott.
(Hey, I'm a big fan too, disappointed one now that I seen it for my own eyes-and was in Chicago).

That was some of the best television I've seen in a long while! He was completely hammered. I am a bigger fan of his now because of last night. I'm glad he "loosened" up a bit and showed us another side. I think I just might go out and buy another copy of his CD. Awesome!

Some observations I made after watching a couple of the segments(wasn't able to watch the whole movie and see all the segments):

1.Stapp was smashed.....I mean, he was TOTALLY smashed. He slurred his speech, could barely put together sentences and basically acted like a really drunk person would. I haven't seen someone so drunk since some family members had a ton of beer and a few shots of whiskey. :laugh:

2.He acted like a complete goofball and was completely loose. He not only kissed Beth, but also asked for kisses from her. He even kissed the dude next to him! Something tells me if he were sober, he wouldn't have done that. ;) He also cussed a whole lot, which is something I'm not used to seeing from him, but I guess that happens when you are so drunk out of your mind.

3.You could tell just by the look on her face, that Beth was very uncomfortable around him. He definitely flirted with her a lot in the two or three clips I saw and I'd assume he probably did the same off-camera.

4.When they asked him about the album, he really didn't talk all that much about it. He kinda brushed it off to the side. That's not very good promotion for the CD, even if the dude next to him was constantly promoting it.

5.It didn't appear that he was nearly as bad as everyone made him out to be. Was he drunk out of his mind? Yes. Was he flirting with Beth? Of course. Was he rude? On-camera, at least, he really wasn't. Was he hilarious and funny to watch? Heck yes! Does he have a problem with drinking? Probably.

In conclusion, having watched a few of the segments, I can honestly say that I am no less a fan of his music than I was before this whole thing became common knowledge on these forums. I still enjoy TGD, and I still enjoy what he did with Creed. Nothing will change that. However, if he does have a problem with drinking excessively, I hope that he gets help. Things like that can not only destroy careers, but also wreck relationships with loved ones.

I will say that if I were a drinker(which I'm not) and a party'er, Stapp would be a lot of fun to hang out with...so long as he doesn't tell me "he is ready to fight". :laugh:
