ROTFLMFAO!!!! That was friggin hilarious!!! I don't eat red meat right now! I can't digest it right! I don't miss it that much either!

JulieCitySlicker 01-19-2004 01:35 PM

I don't eat beef that much either :) I'm more of a chicken, fish, and turkey kinda girl :D

DangerousDan85 01-19-2004 03:37 PM

hayley 01-19-2004 05:09 PM

It's too slow to load for me

Even though I don't live in America, I don't eat red meat

Wylde-Tremonti 01-19-2004 05:25 PM

i'm eatin roast beef and Noodles right now... lol...
I LOVE RED MEAT!.. i love all meat!!! (cept ppl meat... i'm not a cannibal...)

marlsy 01-19-2004 05:29 PM

even though my husband thinks i'm crazy, I will not touch beef with a ten foot fork right now, if ever again. Nor my kids. I read a book online about Mad Cow by the guy who was on Oprah when she was sued for what she said about beef, it's really interesting. He wrote this before the mad cow showed up here in America. You have to have adobe reader to read it.....

I have mixed feelings about it all. I for one will still eat a great steak anytime. But I think that it is a rare thing that someone gets REALLY sick often from this. Your chances are slim to none. PLUS if you had any idea what was shot into chickens to make them fat and juicy you would crap!!! And we eat the stuff that is injected in them! I try to get antibiotic and horomone free meats, they are more expensive but being a nurse I know too much about the consequenses. There has been a BIG outbreak of rare cancers of the stomach etc... and they are linking it to processed chickens! I also stay FAR FAR away from artificial sweetners even splenda. You would really freak if I told you some of that stuff, and I have seen it with my own eyes!!!!

JulieCitySlicker 01-19-2004 09:47 PM

I think if tofu didn't look like pure crap I could go vegetarian  :)

Xterminator27 01-19-2004 09:48 PM

i made that movie

Jen, tell me the stuff about artificial sweetners! I'm curious, I don't use them much, only in ice tea in the summer. The rare beef thing your thinking of e-coli right? It's hamburger that you can get that from if it's rare inside. E-coli can't penatrate steak, only survive on the surface, hamburger is ground up so it can be dangerous. In my mind I know that mad cow most likely won't happen, but it still freaks me out. Did you know it is a slow virus like HIV and takes 10 to 12 years to show symptoms and there is no test for it to see if you have it. That's freaky to me!

RMadd 01-20-2004 11:59 AM

good stuff.... eat beef. mad cow ain't nothing to be overly scared of, at least not here in the US.

farmgirl 01-20-2004 12:32 PM

:D My avatar thanks you for not dissing beef too bad, LOLOL!

Well..... articficial sweetners like Nutrasweet, Splenda, Equal etc... are VERY bad for you. They have linked it to several nervous system diseases like MS!!!! I had a patient about a month ago that was newly diagnosed with MS and they did all kinds of testing on her. One thing that put her at a high risk was all she drank was DIET COKE!!!! In college we called it a "can of carcinogens" it is all chemicals that are manufactured in a plant somewhere, nothing natural about them. People say Splenda is made from sugar, well it is BUT they say it is just as bad for you if not worse than the others. Think about it, it is all chemicals and cancer causing crap. I myself just use real sugar and sometimes "sugar in the raw" I just don't use lots of sugar to help save on calories. I also don't eat margarine or fake butter. I use the real deal, just watch portion sizes.

As far as mad cow disease, I saw on the news that they said it is the brain, and brain stem and spinal cord of the cow that contains the disease NOT the muscle of the meat that we eat.

I always heard the artificial sweetners are bad bad bad. I'm lucky I hate diet anything!! I actually very rarely drink reg. coke.

As for just the brain and spinal cord that carry mad cow, according to that book I read, That is what the british government told everyone, then years down the road people there started dying from it. So I'm not sure I would believe everything you hear. They really don't know a whole lot about it yet, All I know is Britian now tests EVERY cow to be slaughtered there, we don't do that here and we SHOULD!! Cows don't have to be sick to have mad cow, it shows up in them years down the road just like us. Don't be suprised if years down the road we have some people coming down with mad cow.

Mulletman 01-21-2004 11:44 PM

You shitting me?!?!?!?! I'd eat a pig' ass if you cooked it right. Its hard to NOT eat meat here in Texas. I am not avoiding meat at all.. the redder the better!

DangerousDan85 01-21-2004 11:50 PM

hmmmm, BEEFY!

- Mankind (Chef Boyardee commercial)

RMadd 01-22-2004 12:14 AM

from what I've read, artificial sweeteners are bad if you consume a whole shitload every day... of course, that could be wrong.

DangerousDan85 01-22-2004 01:04 AM

i think anything can be bad for u if u consume a shitload of it

DangerousDan85 01-22-2004 12:27 PM

who wants some meatloaf

JulieCitySlicker 01-23-2004 05:01 PM

Meatloaf is some good shit :D

Bridge of Clay 01-23-2004 07:11 PM

Bah... you can't eat cow meat because of mad cow...
you can't eat chicken because it gets pumped with stuff
you can't eat pig because it's disgusting...
and you can't eat fruits and vegetables due all the agrotoxics they spill on them to kill verms...

so, what are you gonna eat???????

I don't eat pig... because it's not good meat (taste and health).

But I'm stopping eating cow meat... not because I want, I just had enough of it, you know? But I still love burgers!!! they are the best!

And I really love chicken! Anything on the menu with chicken is fine by me! :P

JulieCitySlicker 01-23-2004 07:15 PM

I love chicken to Marcos :D
Its good shit :)

HoundDog 01-23-2004 09:33 PM

I don't eat shit, just chicken, and beef, and pork. :D

JulieCitySlicker 01-23-2004 09:40 PM

HEHEHE! :D
Well you know what I meant :)

HoundDog 01-23-2004 09:42 PM

:D I know, I know!

They call it mad cow because cows get it from humans feeding cow back to cows. So the cows are "mad" It actually had a diff. name, it actually came from sheep.

Well, i'm getting better, my daughter had a hamburger last night and I didn't freak out. She was kinda trippin on it though, but she ate it.

JenRN 01-27-2004 10:42 AM

I look at it this way. If you got too upset over what is in everything you eat you would not eat anything at all! I try to stay away from things I know are really bad and are all the time, like the artificial sweetners etc... I don't eat beef all the time but do like it here and there. I just made a big pot of meatballs and sauce yesterday, tasted damn good. And I did not think of Mad cow at all. :D

Yeah your right Jen, i'm trying to get over my mad cow scare!!! It is freaky but I have to realize the chances of actually getting it are like winning the lottery!!! So I have to :chillpill

You just have to know, I am not one who thinks this can't happen to me.... I was kidnapped as a teen and my oldest daughter was hospitalized for salmonila when she was 6 that she got from an iguana. So I know that things CAN really happen! So I am a little freaky about things like that.
