Maybe Scott gave it to him?
I was hoping Scott would sing This war has made me numb...oh well, still was great to watch.

Cool. It doesnt look like mark has a black eye.>.>
At 8:2 something you can see stapp playing the guitar. I wonder how good he actually is.

I agree I think Mark had a black eye, I think scott threw some orange juice at him. :). Over come acoustic sounds really good, so does my own prison.

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Why do i get the feeling something not on the up and up is going on between the guys from this interview?

Between mark's black eye and the fact that he looks like he would rather be getting his balls waxed than sitting in that chair, something just seems not right.

Does anyone else think mark just looks fucking unhappy as shit? When he's talking, when he's sitting there, when he's playing, he just looks miserable to me, this interview makes me want to give the guy a hug. I know that look on his face, i get the same way when i'm really upset about something to the point of being enraged. It's a really terrible feeling to be that frustrated.

Watch him sing the chorus of My Own Prison when the camera is in his face, he's not even there. I hope he's alright.

I also read somewhere today that stapp was sitting at a denny's at 4 am somewhere trying to pick up girls and score cocaine.

Normally i would dismiss that as a really comical rumor, but if tremonti has a black eye and looks miserable like he does (to me), i sort of wonder.

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Ya, mark does not look happy at at all. When Flip taking about younger fans and said some thing like that just means they are old. When Stapp replied not me baby, you can see Mark looks up in the air like you smart @$$

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

I think a lot of people try to discern Tremonti's expressions simply because of a stigma, for lack of a better word, that surrounds the members ever since the break up. Ever since the "bad blood" got revealed, everyone's just watching and waiting for all the tell tale signs of trouble brewing beneath the surface, including analyzing old interviews to see if they can notice hints of an imminent break up in the details.

It's all mostly in your head. There was a rumor about Stapp and the Denny's ordeal, but that's been years ago. Whether or not it's true, is a mystery to me. There are, however, numerous photos of Stapp at said Denny's with said people...

Water under the bridge. As far as Mark's eye, they just posted a picture of him and Eric playing ping pong the other day. Maybe he got smacked in the eye with the ball.
Secondly, I'm sure Mark has a good bit on his mind.
He's having to contend with the Alter Bridge DVD being blocked from release by Wind-Up, and he's got thoughts of the spring tour coming up, along with Alter Bridge's 3rd studio album and tour. It's not exactly an easy workload.
I do not find it surprising that Stapp seems the most enthusiastic about everything, since out of all the other members, he has the less amount of work to do. Not saying he isn't working his rear off, mind you.

As good as it is to be back, there's plenty of things that can be on Tremonti's mind right now, to make him not want to act like a Walmart people greeter in every interview. To say there is some kind of tension in the band, is probably overreacting a little bit. I sincerely doubt Stapp and Tremonti could have as much fun on stage as they have been lately, unless they have truly let bygones be bygones. Tremonti almost always looks this way in most of the interviews I see him in.

Don't let it get to you.

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

You make some good points.

That being said, i'm not looking for trouble, i just happened to notice it after i watched the interview a second time.

I'm thrilled creed is back together, i don't want anything to be going on, but i've never seen mark look like that in any interview i can think of, so whether it's alter bridge stuff or not, he's unhappy about something. His neutral "i'm sitting in my chair thinking" face is never that dark.

The man looks like he's contemplating shooting his first born son.

I just think Mark looks tired. I don't sense any bad blood between them at all.

I don't know if anyone else has notice it but on Stapp's left temple there is also a bruise mark.

Some of you lot really do talk some shit! After watching it twice I cannot see anything wrong at all.

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Mark has always looked like that, 90% of all interviews I've seen or pictures taken of him he has that straight serious face.

Dark_Knight 10-15-2009 09:21 PM

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

After the "old" comment from Flip I did sense Mark was a bit annoyed but I think you guys are turning it into something it's not... he's just WORN OUT. If you notice in every other shot of him he was either head bangin' or smiling so I don't sense any bad blood.

Icedmofo 10-15-2009 09:25 PM

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Chill out, all of you, jesus.

I wasn't saying that to stir up shit, i was actually genuinely concerned for a human being, and i was reacting to what i saw, not starting a fire storm.

Sometimes there's more important things than the band, like the well being of its members.

Many of us have met Tremonti and know how awesome of a guy he is, and i was just concerned about it.

So calm the fuck down.

i am 100% certain that mark tremonti still thinks scott stapp is a douche bag. whenever stapp comes up and tries to grind on him during a song mark looks incredibly uncomfortable with this look on his face like "wow i wish he knew how to play guitar like myles so he'd stay away from me"

Agreed. There's nothing wrong here at all. It pisses me off when people create rumors like this. It's comments like these that cause unnecessary public turmoil that in effect creates turmoil in the band.

please another one word post... i've got one to describe your posts... "lame"...

Here's another thing to throw into the box...

Every Creed interview since they got back today has basically been the same subject, talking about the same things and to me it seems like they're repeating themselves such as about how they've felt and how much growing they've done etc. The guy's probably really fed up by it. I know I would be. I get the feeling he just wants to play.

Icedmofo 10-16-2009 11:23 AM

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Being 100% certain would inform you having talked to tremonti directly and he told you that?

You were also 100% certain about the album sales you quoted from nickelback compared to creed yes?

I appreciated the one word post, it summed up most of what you put on this board.

At least when i make statements like "tremonti looked upset" i say this while also saying "this is my opinion" in the same sentence, meaning i could be completely wrong.

Saying you are 100% certain about something when you have a habit of consistantly making uninformed posts is just asking to be called an idiot.

I agree. He is probably sick of all the PR stuff.

I would like to see Tremonti, Phillips and Marshall talk more in interviews. Scott should step aside and let the others speak.

josha31042 10-21-2009 02:39 PM

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

Scott always was the spokesman for Creed. But I do agree.
I think letting Tremonti speak more would help make the bond stronger.
But I definately would like to hear Flip and Brian speak more......Brian never says anything. He just sits there with a smile on his face......kinda like Japanese women....

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

I think Brian just likes to stay out of the spotlight...maybe camera shy or something. Have you noticed how little time he's on camera during their videos? A lot of times they only show his hands.

He's the frontman. It's part of his job to be talkative and pumped up. What's annoying about mark though is that he just (most of the time) stays in one place throughout the whole concert and puts out no emotion. He looks like a freaking zombie. The only time you see him make a facial expression is when he's doing a solo.

Flip and Brian really arent integral parts of creed. All though being the founder of the band, Brian Does not write any of the lyrics or music. The same goes for flip. It's always been tremonti/stapp. So what they say in creed interviews isint that important to me. In alter bridge I hear they do work with tremonti more.

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

I think Flip is an integral part of the band (of course maybe that's because I'm a drummer myself lol) but seriously, I know most people think that just anyone can sit down and bang on the drums, but a lot of it has to do with chemistry with the band. Just my thoughts... :)

Dark_Knight 10-21-2009 06:45 PM

Re: Creed Walmart Soundcheck Interview Up!

To say Scott & Brian aren't an integral part of Creed is ridiculous imo. sure they might not actually write the lyrics but speaking as a musician if any one of those guys left it wouldn't be the same & you could definitely see that when Brian left back in 2000 ...Brett was good yes but it just wasn't the same (even on Weathered with Mark playing). If you listen to the old stuff it's more bass driven & without those classic bass lines most of the stuff on MOP & Human Clay would be weak.
Now speaking for Flip (I'm also a drummer) he brought something new to Modern Rock drumming, mainly his signature high-hat work which if you notice after Creed hit big everyone started doing.
So anyway the point is they're all special & bring something original to the band... that's what makes Creed unique & powerful.

Flips my favourate drummer. Would definateley not be the same without him.

it was just my opinion. You guys don't have to agree with.

^I should have added that to my post.

I understand that. I just thought after the break up, he would give the other guys more interview time. Seems like he says the same things in every interview, probably not his fault but the questions he is being asked.
