Stapp makes an official statement on the brawl with 311

Very interesting, although I still do not believe that Stapp was not at fault at all....I really won't believe that until I see the brawl on tape, if that ever happens. Anyway, congrats to Scott and his fiancee. Hopefully this relationship works out better than the last. |
Who knows if the tape even caught the whole thing. He's right about one thing. It was an unfortunate situation, for all of them involved.
|
That's true. I'd still like to see the tape released, regardless. I'm just glad that he made a statement in the first place. I thought WU would just ignore it.
|
Its about time we hear something from Stapp...its just about a week too late. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.
And congrats to Stapp ;) |
Well, it's a lot quicker than he's responded, if at all, in previous situations.
|
Its good that Stapp said something about that, but I also agree that now is a little late...

Agreed. Like I said, though, I really want to see the video footage. Until then, I'm not really sure who to believe. There's been inconsistencies in 311's story and Stapp isn't the most trust-worthy guy at this point. So right now, I'm not going to pick sides and will instead just enjoy the music. |
I do not believe a word of that. If you had been to the Chicago show and then heard his excuses for that, you'd know where I'm coming from.
He is a coward who refuses to take responsibility for his actions. |
CONGRATS STAPP on ur engagement, hope it last. Tell me y would anyone get engaged on turkey day? I would think he would do it on x-mas. But that's just me.
Come on Scott this is ur engagement man, and u screw it up by fighting. Ur supposed to be with ur new furture wife, not going downstairs to drink and start a fight. It shows u how much she means to him, that he would go on that show and rub on Beth's back and try to get with her. Not a match made in heaven. But congrats to ya. |
Quote:
Amen. The guy is a loser. Lover his music if you want, but please PLEASE stop trying to make him out to be a saint, people... |
Heh, I don't think anyone's making him out to be a saint, not here, anyway :D
|
Quote:
Who said anything about him being a "saint." If anyone glorifies anyone... it's you in regards to Alter Bridge. |
Quote:
If you want the tape, im sure someone at PBF has it by now. |
Quote:
They wont give that tape out, PBF are stapp lovers all the way. And they all believe stapp and what he had to say on MTV. I personally think they worship the guy. Stapp can do nothing wrong in there eyes. WHATEVER! |
Quote:
... says the person named "Stappishot." |
Quote:
exactly. Yes I do think he is hot, who cares. I think a lot of people r hot, ur probably hot. :D |
Quote:
I said that they love stapp, I mean that in they really love him. And I doubt that they would give the tape out. |
Quote:
You're probably hotter ;) |
Quote:
They probably track the number of shits that Scott takes in a week. lol |

I remember that one 2. I don't think it's gonna last. He has to many problems to deal with right now, and drinking being one of them. I think he's rushing in, and I don't think he's ready. When I said I hope it last, I was being sarcastic. Think about it, when he drinks, he flirts. I mean the girl is only 23. Not that, thats a problem, But when I first seen a pic of her, I thought she was the same age as Stapp. :D She looks kinda old. But if he wants to marry her and if he thinks it's gonna last, then so be it. |
Quote:
Well, after being married to a psycho like her, wouldn't you say the same thing? ;) Quote:
As far as I can tell, the hotel people haven't released it to the public yet...so that means no one has it right now but them. Guess we'll just have to wait and see if they release it or not. Quote:
If you've actually read the PBF message board lately(and I have), they have all freely admitted that he has problems and that he has made mistakes. The Admin over there has even said that she thinks Scott should apologize to the SpikeTV people(including the hosts of Casino Cinema). Everyone expects the PBF'ers to chastize Stapp and suddenly stop supporting him. But they won't do that. What they have chosen to do, though, is to forgive him(like any good Christian is supposed to do), rather than continually criticize his every move. They aren't going to let what he does in bars or during TV tapings effect whether they like his music or not. They want to be positive when it comes to Scott and his music. If you(and this includes everyone who criticizes PBF) don't like the positivity at PBF, or the fact that people over there are so willing to forgive Scott for his wrong-choices, then do yourself a favor: STAY OFF THE FORUMS! They won't change their ways just because so and so says they are "obsessed" or "blind". They have freely chosen to be positive and that is their prerogative. In my honest opinion, it is ridiculous to criticize them for wanting to run positive forums where bashing Scott is not allowed. And all of this is coming from a non-posting member at PBF...go figure. |
Quote:
You sure have a lot of criticism towards PBF,.....I wonder why you hang around there SO much then.....??? :dunno: Living the double life, huh? :paperbag: |
Quote:
U know what, everyone has there on opinion here, ok. I'm starting to see how stapp really is, that's why I have so much to say. He's a hypocrite, he doesn't practices what he preaches. Until I see him straighten up his act, I wont support him like I used to. It's good and all that u forgive him, fine good 4 u, but I'm not as ready as u are. Yes I know he's human and all blah blah blah, but to say one thing, then do the next, and if ur fans aren't used to seeing u like that, it kinda throws the fan off to left field. And believe me I don't care if pbf doesn't changed there was on stapp, if they choose to forgive him on everything, good for them, but that's not how I see it. Worship the music not the person. I'm sorry if we all have opinions here, and we speak on them. Sometimes the artist has to see what his/her fans are saying to get a real reality check. |
Quote:
I hang around there cause i like to hear what people have to say. is that a problem? I'm still a stapp fan, but I have opinions 2. If I see someone doing wrong that I like, I'm gonna be honest and post my opinion about it. I wont be a fan if I just go on to say how wonderful he is, and not be telling the truth about how I feel, right? I can't stand a lot of things or maybe dislike a lot of things, it's like a song that u hate. but u can't stop listening to it. :D |
Quote:
r u stalking me? U seem to know a lot about me. Kinda scary. :D |
I get what you're saying. It IS a double standard, he hasn't practiced what he preaches and he definitely has problems, as far as we can tell. As a Christian, instead of turning my back on his music and the good it has done for my life, I choose to stand by the music(not his actions) and pray for the guy who is behind it.
I guess because he presents himself as a Christian, he is held up to a higher standard than the average Rockstar. I think if he were perceived as the typical Rockstar, rather than the holier than thou Rockstar, people wouldn't be that pissed off with his recent actions. Afterall, this kind of ridiculous, stupid behavior is common in Rock&Roll. But I guess with the sometimes blantant spirituality in his lyrics, combined with his Christian beliefs(which he has made known), people don't expect him to do this stuff, because, really, would you expect a fellow Christian to act this way? No, because it is considered "sinful" behavior, which it is. So when he does do this stupid crap, people are quite angry about it and he loses quite a few fans because of being held up to such a high standard. Apparently not everyone is willing to look past the stupid behavior and actually give the MUSIC a chance to speak for itself. I don't like Stapp because of his personality or beliefs, I like him because of his music. There's a quote I'd like to use, which comes from a recent article on(surprise!) christianmusicnews.net: Quote:
That quote, right there as far as I'm concerned, says it all. |
Quote:
I like the way u put that in words. I feel the same way. I like his music, yes, but the person he has become is alittle much for me. This is how I see it, if u come into the entertainment business talking about how much ur this and how much ur that, ur fans get used to U being that way. Then when he does a 360 and does something that we never thought that he would, we're shocked. Like I said I'm a fan of stapp he's music is good, but the way he acts right now, I kinda feel bad 4 the guy in a way. But he has to do something about it, b4 he's fans start leaving one by one. |
I agree. If he has a substance abuse problem, he needs to get help and do so fast. Not for the sake of his music but instead for the sake of his son. That's what concerns me the most at this point. We don't have to deal with Scott on a day-to-day basis, but his son DOES. I can only imagine what his son must have to deal with if his drunkeness is a daily occurance. I just pray he gets this problem under control before he gets married, so that his son can have some stability.
|
Quote:
I don't think marriage is the best bet for him right now, to tell u the truth. He has so much problems he has to deal with b4 he can make that much of an important decision like that. Stapp needs to find himself first. |
Titan, I hear you on what you're saying about PBF wanting to keep things positive, but what bugs me - and I don't post there, but I have read - is that they refuse to see or really acknowledge any real faults in the man. They excuse a lot of his behavior or come up with what I consider some implausible explanations for it. Plus, they won't accept any debate of any kind if it varies from the he's-the-misunderstood-rock-star/christan/person.
|
Have you read any of the messages there lately? I'd venture to say that all of the PBF'ers are admitting that he has faults and has made mistakes. Like I said, even the Admin over there has said that he needs to apologize to the SpikeTV people. I know what you are saying...in the past, it was very easy to draw the conclusion that they saw no faults in him. But after reading all of the messages lately, it's pretty apparent that they do see faults in him. Rather than abandoning him as some have done, they've chosen to forgive and pray for him.
They have accepted criticism as of late....so long as it is done in a respectful manner. Take Stappishot for instance. She's a member there and has posted what she thinks of the situation. They've respected her opinion and have not censored it(as far as I can tell). But when a person comes there to blatantly stir the pot and bash Stapp in a disrespectful manner, they'll get banned or at least warned. PBF doesn't ban everyone who has a differing opinion of Stapp....they only ban those who come there to bash him. |
Quote:
When i reply to anything, I make it my responsibility to make it as respectful AS possible (that's how I see it anyway :D ) . I try not to bash in a hurtful way, but I'm also trying to get my point across. |
That's a good practice. Like I said, if you disagree in a respectful way, they won't ban or warn you.
|
Quote:
Yeah, that's just so pathetic....really knowing what happened in Chicago. He would have more credibility and respect if he was more coherence  |
