Additional comments about Chicago show
The one part of last night's Chicago show that made the trip almost worthwhile was the opening band, Local h. I would describe them as a rarity, bringing a powerful rock sound to the stage as opposed to the commercialized, pawned one that Creed followed with. Half way through Creed's drunken excuse for a set, I found myself wishing Local h was playing. How this group isn't more of a national act, I don't know. Last night will be the last time I see Creed in concert. I can't afford to waste $50 on that fake product. I would have rather spent the money to see the Bucs embarrass the Bears on national television 2 hours south in Champaign.

Dude...I kno your Upset...but that doesn't mean you should never go to a Creed show again....they're an awesome band...well...when Stapp isn't drunk.....and Mark is the greatest guitarist I've ever seen....we gotta stick with these guys or they'll never recover!!
|
Mark is the best guitarist i've ever seen live.....and ive seen bb king, thorogood, buddy guy live....

I Agree,

True fans
It's one thing to be a fan and stay by there side, but for the fans that where there in chicago it's a different story. We have a right to be pissed and voice our frustration of Stapp. It was honestly like being stabed in the back, or even worse in the heart. People who werent at the chicago show shouldn't post crap like oh your not true fans...because it hasn't happend to them just wait untill it does. As far as Creed not being able to bounce back without our support..after Chicago i don't think Stapp cares much about out support.
|
I don't want to get into a pissing contest with anybody, and you're right, Daygo23, you have the right to be pissed off, angry, irritated, whatever. I certainly would have been angry and disappointed, too. I got a little taste of Scott's recent behavior at the Penn State show last month, a shortened set, and some weird behavior. Granted, it wasn't nearly as bad as what happened in Chicago, but it still doesn't mean that one bad experience ruins the appreciation for what they have given to their fans over the years. I'm sorry, but in my opinion, people in this world are so quick to turn on each other because of one mistake or bad experience. I have the same right to post whatever *crap* I want about what I think about the fans.

I'm sure he does, he just needs a break, hopefully things will get better, for the sake of his band, and himself |
The only thing that gets me is, this was my first creed concert. I have all of their work, even the stuff before they were commercial like their live bootlegs from orlando's prison and pittsburg....so this was like a huge event for me.....i feel like i didn't even go see them i just saw like rehersals or something
|
alot of people feel they were ripped off, from what Ive read. That totally sucks your first live CREED experience was like this.
|
I really used to like Creed, before they became so commercialized. The next thing you know they are on every music awards show, their music is sold to any advertising organization willing to pay a few extra bucks, and they're ripping Pearl Jam. I know they apologized for the PJ comments, but how could they rip Pearl Jam of all bands... Stapp should thank Eddie Vedder for creating a vocal sound that is easy for him to replicate. I'm sick of bands like Creed and the Who for selling their souls to anyone willing to buy. I guess I'm old fashioned, because I like bands that really play for the love of the music.... and I don't see that in Creed anymore.
|
OK...Creed NEVER ripped PJ...that Brian BY HIMSELF......you can't blame the band for what he did...

..and Scott was cool enough to apologize for brians comments.. |
My point was just the trend the band has taken.

What commercials do Creed songs appear on? I don't watch much TV, so I wasn't aware they had sold any of their tunes for commercials. Good God, the Pearl Jam ripping is sooooo old. And they did apologize, and it was Brian Marshall who ripped them publicly, not the whole band. Are you sure you really liked Creed? ;) Creedfan, I truly feel bad that this was your first Creed concert. I saw them three times on this tour and they were nothing short of amazing. Best live show I've seen in a loooong time. I really hope you get to experience them at their best someday, because boy, they really do rock the house. |
To be honest, I was still impressed in many ways musically. As i've said on many posts, Tremonti was a guitar on stage last night. Being a guitarist for 15 years myself, i was hypnotized by his playing. I'll get the chance again someday to see them again at their best.
|
Tremonti is the main reason I love Creed. I've always been partial to axemen, and you're right, when he gets to let loose, he is mesmerizing.
|
The one thing that I keep replaying in my head, its not him throwing the mics or laying down or sitting, or looking completely out of it, it was something he said towards the end of the show. People were booing him off and on and after a song he looked up at the crowd with the saddest look ive ever seen on a grown mans face and he said "come on guys please dont boo me"....when i heard that....my heart dropped
|
Wow, I think I would have cried at that point. That is so sad. He's obviously in a bad place.
|
I just hope things get better for Stapp and the rest of the band.
|
Yeah i had a lump in my throat and my girlfriend was tears in her eyes after we heard that...you could tell he was so mentally unstable

Now Come on!.....that shows Stapp does cares about our SUPPORT!...I know Stapp is a good guy and doesn't want to let us down! |
Yeah thats true.
|
I hope Stapp recovers as well, regardless of how much I like or dislike the band at this point.
I really think he should take some time off. Their opener last night deserves to get more tour dates with them, so that would be a disappointment for that up-and-coming band. |
he is taking time off.. tomorrow is the last show until summer

What Teri said!!!!!

We, the loyal members of CreedFeed, officially appoint TERIB19 as our spokeswoman, because she always says the right thing at the right time!! :D

Only when I can get my size 7 1/2 foot out of my mouth long enough. I'm sure there are some that I've pissed of here with my post, but I don't believe ALL the new posters are wallowing in the negative. Please don't get me wrong you guys, but I am very skeptical of the fact that while the tour was going well and they were looking, feeling and sounding great, the new members trickled in, and now that they have proven to be human, the board is inundated with 16 new members all with a story to tell.
|
My feet are bigger than yours!! ;)
About the new members, we will know what kind of fans they are if they stick around here during Creed's long deserved and awaited break next year. |
You're right, Bigfoot. ;) If they hang with us and keep up the positive hopes and thoughts for the band, they're true fans. If not, then they were just angered fans venting.
|
You know, shoe sizes could be different between our two countries. So don't get all big-headed about it. ;)
|
What is your shoe size in the future?
|
I don't want to tell you until I find out the conversion from US to Australian!

Yep. :D

Here,
. I think that this incident does two things, among others: it disappoints the people like myself, who have been longtime fans and always thought Creed had something to stand for, and it also gives all the people who hated Creed something more to use to rip on them. I think that if people start to abandon Creed because of one incident, it'll only prove what all the critics have said all along. I know how people feel. This was my sixth Creed show, dating back to when I saw them in Florida in '99. I was there. I sat outside for four hours in the cold so I could be up close and personal with Tremonti and the band. You know people are going to say this and that, all about how the band is fake and that they were never any better than a Pearl Jam wannabe band. I know that people go through a lot just being fans of the band. Just like they're criticized for being "too religious", people who support the band are looked at in the same way. Keep it real.
