I'm not sure where to post this, so I guess here is alright. Anyway, I was on PBF and saw a post about Brett Hestla(ex-Creed touring bassist). In it, there was a link to an interview I'm assuming he did pretty recently. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...27148&q=virgos In the interview, he talks candidly about the Creed break-up. I found some of the quotes interesting, in regards to Stapp and his illnesses:

"when someone is crying for help, it's time to stop the train and fix the problem..."

"learn to deal with every problem very seriously and give it the attention that it deserves..."

With all this talk of it completely being Stapp's fault that he didn't seek help(during the Weathered tour) for his illnesses, maybe there IS some truth to him saying that he "took one for the team"? Maybe his bandmates really weren't concerned with his health problems and just didn't want to deal with it? It's certainly interesting to hear this interview from Brett, as he is an unbiased observer. Just some food for the thought.

Ya know, can't ANYBODY get the facts straight? In the narrative of that interview they say Stapp's infamous show where he was drunk was on New Year's Eve. HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!??!? Grrr.

Finally Brett says what i have believed the whole time,....Mark and Flip were obviously money-hungry assholes!

crest tattoo 12-12-2005 01:44 PM

It was said from members backstage that he was pushed very hard to perform. Sorry, can't remember who said it. I was in Chicago, yes he was very out of it, but yes, it is nice to know that Stapp was trying to reach out and not just blowing it. There is so much to this I'm sure none of us know.

Yeah, I noticed that. It really sucks when people don't do their research before posting something like that.

exactly...you're a little mixed up on that one, Filthy...Brett and Mark are still friends, and Brett is telling the same story about Stapp that Mark has been telling...

Everyones saying the same thing about stapp except for a bunch of people who are in the state of denial or just like to disagree and argue.

Which has got me confused. It seems like, in this interview, anyway, that Brett is insinuating that Scott wasn't given the attention or help he needed from his bandmates. But then again, I've heard that Brett has backed Mark and Flip's side of the story....so it's kinda confusing and contradictory.

well, no, he's talking about it in the interview...not stopping "the train" to deal with the problem, he's implying that Stapp is the problem and that he needs to be dealt with...the way the footage is edited, it's a little open to interpretation, so, if one WANTED to believe Stapp's story about how Mark and Flip turned their back on him, they could CHOOSE to interpret it that way, but, again, Brett and Mark are still friends and Brett backs Mark's story...all you have to do is go to a Dark New Day concert and ask him about it, and he will tell you...that's what I did...

I see. You're right, given the limited amount of footage, it would be very easy to interpret it either way. Whenever I go to a DND concert(hopefully sometime within the next year :D), if I get a chance to meet Brett...I'll have to ask him about it.

Or how about those people who don't believe everything Mark and Flip have to say? Are they in a state of denial just because they don't think everything Mark says is the absolute, honest to God truth? Are they here just to "disagree and argue" because they don't believe everything Mark says? I think you are unfairly judging some of the people here who might defend Stapp. Not everyone who is a fan of the guy is dilusional, crazy, obsessed or here to cause fights. Some are just sticking up for a guy who they might think is unfairly bashed.

I've said the same thing for months now, but I might as well restate it: I think there is truth coming from both sides and that the real truth lies somewhere in between. I am an equal fan of Stapp and Alter Bridge and I will defend both when I think they are being unfairly bashed.

Titan,

I understand your point of view, but the thing is that its not only mark and the band, its tea party, its 311, its the former base player, its his former wife, its the casino cinema thingy that we all saw, its howard sterns girl friend and howard himself, its his current fiance who said he likes to mentally abuse people, its the people who attended the december show and so on ....

now is there 1 single person (who is/was close to this guy) to stand up for him and say that hes been a victim of lies and bashing?

There must be something wrong here when you put the facts together, thats all im saying.

do it, man...I guarantee a great show...DnD sound even BETTER live than the cd, and Brett always delivers kick ass vocals live...
