I just dont get it . I hope he finds a way to be himself again cause he really needs help.

But here's what I don't get. You, as well as a bunch of other people hated him when he was being himself. Now that he apparently has an aura about him that shows that he really doesn't care about anything anymore... you hate that also. What do you expect from him? He was a laughing stock before this happened... and now... he just doing whatever the hell he wants because he knows he has nothing to lose anymore.

Teri, I sooo know what you are saying. I felt the same humiliation for him. I wonder how his GF felt after that.
Luke, I agree with you too, and I just wonder if he shouldn't remove himself from the spotlight. I don't think he can handle it.
I wonder how Mark felt about Scott's little performance. He prob sat back and thought, "Finally, everyone believes me."
So sad, so sad.

Especially sad when you consider that he got engaged just five days earlier. That must have made his fiancee angry to see him behaving that way around the SpikeTV chick. I know if I were in her shoes, I'd be pretty upset.

Just saw the CC clip. I read your remarks before I viewed the clip.

Now, I don't drink - I'm as close to sober 24/7 as you could be - but I found it funny more than uncomfortable.

Uncomfortable? Why would you feel uncomfortable? How many of you have been drunk and acted like that? And before you say it, it doesn't matter if you're on T.V in view of a national audience or just with your mates. People who felt uncomfortable were probably those who placed him on a pedestal and carefully analyse everything he does. Now I know why he needs to 'loosen-up'.

And what about some of the comments you made about what he said! HE WAS DRUNK!! He didn't disrespect his GF - HE WAS DRUNK!! He didn't know what the hosts were asking him, let alone being able to form a coherent response! His GF knows the 'real' Stapp. No one on this forum does - talk about judgmental!

I don't know what the status of CC is, but do you think Stapp would turn up on Leno/Letterman like that?

On a lighter note - did anyone think he sounded like Sly Stallone?

Take Care

Ok before YOU go on, it most certainly DOES matter if you're on TV, if your a newly solo artist on a promotional tour, trying to get people to listen to your new CD. And I'm not one to put him on a pedastal and analyze everything he does, so don't be so quick to categorize me as such. Do you think the people at Wind Up were proud of him for his actions and behavior? Sticking chips in his mouth? Slurring his speech? There is a time and a place for everything, and the time to get drunk and act like an ass is NOT before a television appearance.

No, you're right, no one on this forum knows him personally. And I personally don't think I'd WANT to meet him if he would be falling-down, sloppy, piss-eyed drunk. Maybe it's because I'm older than many of the members here, but I think it's wrong to get shitfaced and then go on national television and make an ass of yourself. Do you think his parents, his sisters, his girlfriend or his SON for that matter, thought it was funny?

I think it made me uncomfortable because I know what a great talent he has and what he's capable of, and I think that by making himself look foolish and quite possibly alienating many people who otherwise would've given his new CD a listen, he did more damage to his career. Had the Chicago show never happened, maybe it would've been funny, but knowing how he behaved in Chicago, then hearing his lame ass excuse for it, THEN seeing him wasted on television, I think he's definitely on a downward spiral, despite what he wants the general public to think.

/rant.

"You are obsessed that I hate Stapp?" That make no sense whatsoever.

Because I'm older (?)

Again, not for me to even consider, I don't know them - maybe they did find it funny. As for bringing them into the discussion - I have no feelings for the man on a personal level. I do wish him the best, though - Love the music, not the person.

It doesn't matter how Stapp presented himself on CC. It is quite easy to see (especially on this forum) that people formed their own opinion of Stapp, both on a personal and professional level, a long time ago - even before the Chicago incident. I don't think his actions have altered/harmed his sales in anyway.

People are not going to think 'Hey, Stapp's on CC tonight. Let's watch it so we can make the final decision on whether or not we're going to buy his album'.

Take Care (and calm down...calm down Teri19 - make yourself a nice cuppa and relax - it was only my opinion) :)

I like how you make it sound like Scott is the only rock musician that's been drunk. I don't think he's really "alienating" anybody. Maybe the Bible thumpers... but that's it. Like I said earlier... I'm a against drug use... but I love the Doors. That doesn't take away from the music.

I think makes sense what i wrote. If you are trying to make me feel like an stupid saying that it doesnt have any sense what i wrote, you are mistaken. Its corret what i wrote...may be thats your problem cause you dont get the meaning of the sentence.

The music that Stapp makes is far from what the Doors made. If Stapp ever makes that kind of music, then ok he can do whatever the hell he wants and we wont get upset and will still like his music and prefer his talents over his behaviour. But what hes doing and making right now isnt even good for some or most people for that matter. if he was making good music he would be selling more, getting more air play and all that stuff. However for the people who enjoy his music all that much, your more than free to support his stupidity; it just might make you look even more stupid.
