First, how old are you and you live in US? Koresh claimed to be Jesus and led that cult in Waco, Texas, that the FBI watched for a month and a half and then stormed in and all but 4 or 5 people stayed in the building when it burned to the ground. He was crazy, and I thought it fit.

Sorry, you wouldn't remember that then, it was probably in 1994 or so. We wawtched it live on TV, and kept saying to ourselves, where are the people and why are they not running out? I know taht picture is old, but do you see all those little icons at the bottom right of your desktop? Well they can slow your machine down. I saw atleast five, thats 4 too many. You might wanna get rid of some of those.

and 2 are things, How can they slow it down? They are just links to stuff

Nope. The ones on the lower left are just short cuts. The ones on the lower right are programs that are running in the background. Every single one of those, besides the clock and the sound, is raking up system resources. I know you play some games, if you close out of those programs your machine will run a bit faster.
