I really used to like Creed, before they became so commercialized.  The next thing you know they are on every music awards show, their music is sold to any advertising organization willing to pay a few extra bucks, and they're ripping Pearl Jam.  I know they apologized for the PJ comments, but how could they rip Pearl Jam of all bands... Stapp should thank Eddie Vedder for creating a vocal sound that is easy for him to replicate.  I'm sick of bands like Creed and the Who for selling their souls to anyone willing to buy.  I guess I'm old fashioned, because I like bands that really play for the love of the music.... and I don't see that in Creed anymore.

What commercials do Creed songs appear on? I don't watch much TV, so I wasn't aware they had sold any of their tunes for commercials. Good God, the Pearl Jam ripping is sooooo old. And they did apologize, and it was Brian Marshall who ripped them publicly, not the whole band. Are you sure you really liked Creed? ;)

Creedfan, I truly feel bad that this was your first Creed concert. I saw them three times on this tour and they were nothing short of amazing. Best live show I've seen in a loooong time. I really hope you get to experience them at their best someday, because boy, they really do rock the house.

To be honest, I was still impressed in many ways musically. As i've said on many posts, Tremonti was a guitar on stage last night. Being a guitarist for 15 years myself, i was hypnotized by his playing. I'll get the chance again someday to see them again at their best.

Dogstar 12-30-2002 03:57 PM

Tremonti is the main reason I love Creed. I've always been partial to axemen, and you're right, when he gets to let loose, he is mesmerizing.

The one thing that I keep replaying in my head, its not him throwing the mics or laying down or sitting, or looking completely out of it, it was something he said towards the end of the show. People were booing him off and on and after a song he looked up at the crowd with the saddest look ive ever seen on a grown mans face and he said "come on guys please dont boo me"....when i heard that....my heart dropped

Dogstar 12-30-2002 04:04 PM

Wow, I think I would have cried at that point. That is so sad. He's obviously in a bad place.

SJack5802 12-30-2002 04:06 PM

I just hope things get better for Stapp and the rest of the band.

creedfan 12-30-2002 04:07 PM

Yeah i had a lump in my throat and my girlfriend was tears in her eyes after we heard that...you could tell he was so mentally unstable

Now Come on!.....that shows Stapp does cares about our SUPPORT!...I know Stapp is a good guy and doesn't want to let us down!

SJack5802 12-30-2002 04:14 PM

Yeah thats true.

ekk25 12-30-2002 04:54 PM

I hope Stapp recovers as well, regardless of how much I like or dislike the band at this point.

I really think he should take some time off. Their opener last night deserves to get more tour dates with them, so that would be a disappointment for that up-and-coming band.

MudBaybee 12-30-2002 04:57 PM

he is taking time off.. tomorrow is the last show until summer

People who werent at the chicago show shouldn't post crap like oh your not true fans...because it hasn't happend to them just wait untill it does. As far as Creed not being able to bounce back without our support..after Chicago i don't think Stapp cares much about out support.

sure, we all have the right to voice our opinions and frustrations,,,several people here were part of earlier cancellations, but have stood by the band. What do you really expect when you just HOP ON NEW TO A BOARD with some long-time loyal Creed fans....we are a passionately, positive group! "Believe what you will, that is your right....I choose to win, to fight - STANDING STRONG with CREED!!

Exactly right souldancer, if I may add that since midnight on 12/30 16* new members have joined Creedfeed, and most (not all)have posted about how Creed sucked, how they wasted their money, how they're never going to waste their $59 again, how they'll never buy another Creed CD again, blah blah blah. Souldancer is right, there are many people here who dealt with the disappointment of cancelled shows, shows with technical difficulties, shows where the band and Scott weren't up to speed, but we are loyal Creed fans. I am not saying that these 16 new posters aren't loyal fans, I'm just saying that I hope they aren't coming out of the woodwork to wallow in the negativity when all this past year when there was so much POSITIVE to be shared, we never heard from any of them.

*Edited on 12/31 @ 6:00 a.m. Now there are 19 new members!
