I too hope he sticks with traditional style of rock and the type of lyrics that he tends to write. That, along with his voice, is what drew me into Creed in the first place. His lyrics just give me a feeling like nothing else. Another solo with his sister would be great, but can't really think of anyone else for a duet. I know whatever he does will be great because I have loved everything else so far. I'm behind him all the way. I just wish I didn't have to wait so long. I'm ready now!

Hahaha...I'd like to see a more stripped down approach, a la Chris Cornell on Euphoria morning, something melodic and soulful. I think he could do that really well...Or maybe something like Mad Season where he teams up with some really good guests and do a combo of soulful, blues, rock...that would be cool, too.

I would like to see some more Amiee Stapp also, she has a beautiful voice, they both sound really well together.

But whatever Stapp decides to do will be awesome, and I am going to stand by him all the way.

I agree with everything you said, a2s! Amie has an awesome voice, and they do sound great together! Although the ultimate for me would be for Creed to remain a band, together, intact, if Stapp decides to do solo stuff, I'll support him all the way (but still praying for an eventual Creed release as well!) Hey, a girl can hope, can't she? ;)

LOL

To those that want basically a more traditional rock approach in some ways I agree with you but you don't want it sounding like Creed or what is the point of doing a solo album? It needs to sound different you don't want a copy of something like Eurphoira Morning, but perhaps a combination of the two styles could be great.

Dogstar 01-07-2004 06:52 PM

Yeah, by Euphoria Morning, I just meant I would like him to take a different approach than traditional rock, because I don't want it to sound just like Creed, either.

Yeah couldn't agree more but I would also like it to be more accessible then Scott Weiland's solo album. And no i'm not one of those who only like Interstate Love Song and such.

Dogstar 01-07-2004 07:02 PM

I never got Weiland's solo effort, but I have heard mixed reviews of it.

I haven't bought it but I will simply because I am a Weiland fan even though I have a quote that well isn't exactly favourable to Creed but oh well such is life. I have listened to a few songs on the net though!

It is very un like STP and the way he sings is quite different as well, that unmistakable baritone is not as promient and he uses a lot of unknown musos, different instruments and such. Barabella seems to be really just about the only song that will hit you straight away. The reviews seem to make it clear that its an evolution from Tiny Music but that is also something completely different as well.

While Eurphoira Morning doesn't sound like Soundgarden(probably if anything closet to TOTD) it is much more accessible. Speaking of solo albums from that era where is my Eddie Vedder solo album? LOL

Dogstar 01-07-2004 08:08 PM

Hmmm, it is intriguing. Maybe I can pick it up used in case I don't like it :D.

hayley 01-07-2004 10:08 PM

I don't want it to sound full out like Creed, but just have that Creed edge to it, I don't want Stapp to loose that for good, of course I want to see him reach out and experiment new and different sounds, but still keep that touch.

Yeah the duet in DSD is just a beautiful peice of work, she really does have a nice voice, and it would be cool if she could work more with Stapp.

Yeah, a girl can DEFENITLY hope! ;) And that is the ultimate thing for me, also. There is nothing I want more than to see them sort things out, but I guess we gotta take this ride, and what an amazing ride it shall be! :)

if you go to amazon.com you can listen to 30 second clips to see if you like it, although the real thing is always quite different. It is very un STP like no doubt about that!
