Mark's band is kind of like Audioslave. They won't sell ridiculous amount of records, but they will still go platinum. And they go platinum due to their talent and not due to their image (like most bands).

I don't think it really matters anyway. I think Tremonti is doing this for fun. Music seems to be his passion.

good comparison, two bands with already established names so already an established core audience and that will grow depending on the quality and marketablity of the music produced. lets face it mark will probably never have two songs that are as popular as wawo and higher ever again, but his music will still sell to the rock masses because it is great rock music. a perfect circle is probably also similar, sell on the basis on the music not on image (although having a drawcard like keenan always helps).

excellent point there he's made the money and climbed the mountain, probably doesn't drive him anymore.

I think the diehard Creed fans will give it a chance. But, the new band might not reach the same popularity that Creed had. Myself, I don't care for Myles Kennedy's voice, but I would get the CD because it's Mark and Mark is part of Creed.

i don't think it will be as popular as Creed but that doesn't too much, but I must say I love Myle's voice. Fantastic singer technically, just awesome in that respect.

ya know, the only way to answer this question would be to hear what their music is going to sound like. As was said, music appears to be Marks passion...and and like Audio Slave, yes...this new band is pieced together.

Thing is tho, until the general public hears what they have to offer, and people see how it will go over...just like with any band out there, brand new, or former members of another group...they will have to pay their dues, and see what happens. No one can give an answer as to whether they will make it or not until then.

FUCK WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS.
Some of the GREATEST bands out there right now Aren't Commercially Acceptable. Frankly, Right now most of what's Popular SUCKS. All The POP SHIT has poisened people's Minds. It's Time For The Real Guitarists to Reign again, even if no one likes them!

Well, first off, with the whole issue about tremontis band not being popular... Think about all the people that really like creed, like us. Then think about all the people that didnt like creed because of their religious meanings in songs, but who liked tremonti. Now, think about all the people that like whoever the new lead singer is from. thats quite a fan base! also, think about all the people that want to hear marks full potential. There are a lot of people that i know that didnt like creed strictly because of scott stapp, i dont know what the reason was behind that, but it happens. So, I think that the new band will be very very popular, and yes, pop/punk is killing us all...i cant go out and listen to a band without it being a punk/pop band, its sickening. Guitarists now a days are so sloppy and have no technique, no finess, they are 2 chord supermen, and tremonti is definitly a breath of fresh air over all the idiots with instruments that make it big today

Mark's band has a very good chance at being famous. Creed fans will be open to buying their album. They also have great talent and I'm sure there will be MTV viewers that will think they're "cool".

I think, unless the music world of today has just gotten so bad that people don't know something good when they hear it, the new band will do just fine! Personally I hope they start out small so that we can get to see them in the smaller venues and bars and such, but I do want, and think, that they will be playing the bigger venues soon enough.

Why don't we hear it first before we worry about whether it will fail? Sheesh, I'm sorry, but I'd like to give it a chance before I speculate on its success or failure.

I forgot to mention...along with the Tremonti and Myles fans, there's the Flip fans, and Brian's fans...

i must agree that the comparison to Audioslave is a good one... I think Audioslave kicks ass, so let's hope this new band also does.... honestly, i could really care less how they're received by the public and/or music industry (b/c we all love the riaa, right?)

Sorry Johellion, I didn't leave them out on purpose. It is Mark, Flip and Brian and it will be good to see Brian again playing with them.

Did you get the opportunity to hear any of the new music yet?

I think they'll do well. I think they'll be a little slow out of the gate, since I'm never really sure how much the "casual Creed fan" really knows about what's going on. Yeah, there are press releases, but they're online. Sometimes a DJ mentions it in passing (odds are, you changed the channel already).

I think they'll do well though...I just think it might take a few months for them to really catch on with the "non internet fan based" Creed fans.

But I also think they've got the tallent to REALLY go places. They're all tremendously tallented.

I totally agree on that one, you took the words right out of my mouth. :) I have been thinking that for a while, but once they get recognised, they will be fine.

You also have to think about the guitarist/bassists/drummers that are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for tremonti/marshall/phillips to do something...I personally know a lot of musicians that absolutly love tremonti's work, and word of mouth is another factor...i think we should organize something where we each tell 10 people per day and pass the news on about the band, that will definitly give them a head start! I say we start our own little street team in order to get them going faster, and once they are in full swing, we bombard MTV with Tremonti requests!!! Viva Tremonti! ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ay ayeeeee!

i have being spreading the world but reastically no matter how good the music is, if it is not marketed well then it will flop. the promotion has to be there, the distribution everything. i think this most likely be wind-up's no.1 priority this year and they can also release the anthology with fairly limited promotion and still get quite good sales. Just play With Arms Wide Open and the like during the ads.

Dogstar

Absolutely, hide...Promotion and distribution are key. Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trip is a masterpiece of rock in my mind (Ok, I'm slightly biased), and it's the best album people will never hear. Roadrunner Records did zero promotion and it did not sell well. The diehard Jerry fans bought it, but it could have done a lot better with the casual Alice fan who only knew one band member's name -- Layne Staley. They didn't push it on the radio stations, either, for whatever reason. It has at least four or five songs that would have made awesome singles. I just hope Wind Up does a really good job pushing the new band.

you biased noooooooo? :) i agree with you though roadrunner didn't promote it well and it didn't sell well. i think mf4's "second skin" had a similar fate, it seems Sony tried to push them as sort of a pseduo-creed with "eden" and it didn't wash. jerry's stuff (at least some of it) was certainly radio friendly enough. I think touring with Creed and Nickelback and now Kid Rock (??????) should help promote him a little better.

Yeah, I think he's doing his own thing and whatever he can to get his name out there. Not everyone's thrilled with this latest development, but I say as long as he's out there playing, it can't be anything but good! I still haven't found MF4's Second Skin ....I might have to get it online, but I was hoping to find it at the store. Oh well.

It's ok Shadow....It was really to let everyone remember, that they all 3 were a part of Creed, they are all talented, and I just feel like they are gonna be awesome. No....Unfortunately...I haven't had the chance to go and hear them....but my son lived in Orlando, and has seen them play a couple of times....and he told me.....they were gonna blow my mined!!!! So... I think I am gonna wait till Brian can send me a CD :D
