Rise above

where is the light
is it to be found at all
why do we have to loose so hard
before we are told where to go
before all the colors show

I understand now
so many things
and I don't know why it hurts
to give passion away
for something responsible

I've learned to be serious
to rise above you
and where you're heading
still it seems hard
to rise above the things you like

where will you go
if it all falls apart
or will you be forgiven unlike me
after all the struggles I know
you will understand responsibility

will you give your heart
like the body of Christ
it's a burden you can't carry
one day you realise to take care of you
instead of saving the world
