More than a feeling

So yeah, I was recently listening to some music I havent listened to for YEARS!!! Like Mr Big and some Yngwie classics, and I just got sooo excited man. Some of that stuff was just sooooo good and still is really. Still makes me happy to hear it!

So what stuff havent you listened to for many years that when you hear it again, it takes you back to good times of sorts or whatever...?

I will go first:

Definitely Def Leppard's whole album Hysteria does it for me. Oh its such a classic and I still love to hear it. Good memories

How about you?

Re: More than a feeling

Off the top of my head................. The Soup Dragons "Love God" and "Hotwired". I was living very wild and recklessly in the early 90's and those were just two great cd's. The music is fun and sexualy suggestive I guess.
My favorite song off of Lovegod is "Sweet Meat", let's just say reminds me of a few young women I knew
My favorite track off of Hotwired is "Pleasure".

Re: More than a feeling

Ha ha! Great topic!

The irony?

I put on Boston's first LP to warm up with before every gig I play!

Call me superstitious, but it was my favorite album growing up and it works!

I still drop the needle on Yngwie when I get in the mood...

Re: More than a feeling

.......and going way back there was OINGO BOINGO, The Cure, David Bowie, Surf Punks, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, The Cramps, THE RAMONES, CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN, Jane's Addiction, Misfits, The Stranglers, Devo, The Smiths, B 52's(everything before "loveshack"), PUBLIC IMAGE LTD.
The first song I heard outside of traditional FM pop radio was David Bowie's "Starman" and after that I begged my mom for a Bowie record.
I would choose the Bowie album she gave me, but that was 1981 and I was 9 yrs old so I don't remember wich record that was

I'm not old enough to participate in the nostalgia properly, but I'm throwing in Skid Row. They're "old-skool" to me.

Hehe, well, you can add all the stuff you listened to when you were 11 and don't listen to anymore .

Re: More than a feeling

Oh, GAWD, why would I?! It's incriminating! *laughs*

Well, besides the boy bands that will remain unnamed [even though everyone knows who they are ], and the Celine Dion and the Elton John, I did used to listen to Blink-182. I can't stand that kind of crap now, but I thought they were awesome... along with KoRn and Pearl Jam. Obviously I had SOME kind of taste even back then because, of course, I still listen to Pearl Jam.
